Im pretty sure thats rubbish there telling you, because if you have a look on VMs website, in particular this page http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=11169
You get the on-demand even with the basic package of free Tv with an £11 line-rental0 -

There's two services, the catch up TV (with repeats of the last couple of weeks programmes) and the TV Choice on demand which has series of things e.g The Westwing.
It is the second one which is restricted to XL customers, everyone should get the first.Happy New Year :beer:0 -

According to their own website both Catchup and TVOD are available to ALL TV subscribers.0 -
They are both available but at a price. Trying to remember the costing from when I worked for them, but you can pay to have the TVoD added but at a subscription. Just can't remember how much it was, or what it was called. BUT it was many years ago i worked for them and I could be totally wrong.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

Yes but look at it this way, for fourteen months you got a service free which you should not have. Many time certain channels will be free for a month for everyone no matter the size of their package. Loads of people complain when FX or whatever is suddenly removed, that is why they now put a notice up saying free for all Virgin customers for one month. Its the same idea only Virgin didn't check everyone's account to find if they where getting On Demand free. Could be worse they could have charged you for using On Demand for fourteen months.
This has been discussed at lenght on a site which deals with Sky and Virgin etc ditigal spy.0 -

I recently signed up to the XL TV package and as I understood it, only XL customers got the 'Choice on demand', which is why I signed up for the XL option.
I'm not saying it doesn't state elsewhere that L customers get it, but I have noticed 'some' of VM advertising is confusing (especially as they do not include line rentals in their packages, because Sky don't!!).
I do understand why they might have changed it though....there has to be some advantage to XL TV package customers as lets face it, the additional channels aren't necessary worth the extra!0 -
