freezer - seller ignoring me
fiendishly
I won a freezer and was supposed to collect it yesterday. The arrangement was that I would phone to confirm on Friday and she would email me her address. She asked for payment by paypal, which I thought was strange as cash would have protected her from a charge back.
I paid on Thursday, but when I tried to phone, no answer (several times) and no reply to my emails.
So, no freezer.
I have filed a dispute via paypal, which she has ignored.
Do you think I will get my money back?

You will get your money back if you paid by paypal as your seller cannot prove delivery. Escalate to a claim as soon as you are able and back comes your money!0

Even if there is no money in the seller's account? I was worried that if their account was at zero, I would be told I was entitled to my money back, but I wouldn't get any.:beer:0

No that is not the case. Some sellers 'may' try to get round this by emptying thair account. While paypal does not have the right to dip into your seller's bank account, they take a VERY dim view of this practice, they refund you and then THEY go after the seller for their money. They can be VERY harsh too! not a problem for you. Have you escalated the claim yet?0

I would get your money back and move on. You do not want to deal with a seller who messes you about like this. There are excellent sellers on ebay who have tip top customer service and put your needs first.0

I can escalate it tomorrow.
I have been selling for a long time myself (since 2001) and would never dream of doing this to anybody.
Last time I had a problem, paypal told me 'tough, there's no money in their account' but that was a very long time ago, so it has obviously changed.
Thanks for putting my mind at rest:beer:0 -
Yes indeed. Rest easy. You are protected by paypal in this instance. Much as I LOATHE paypal as a seller, I would never dream of paying in any other way as a buyer! I guess I can't have it both ways so I am stuck with them.....0

If this was an ebay transaction you are guaranteed your money back regardless of whether the seller has funds in paypal or not. If this was off ebay then you are dependent on seller having funds to repay you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Did this change recently? About 9-12 months ago my mother won a dispute against a seller for "Item Not Received", and Paypal refunded her no money saying that there were no funds in the sellers account. Perhaps it was a case of Paypal not following their own rules? I'd appreciate any clarification you can provide.0 -

It changed end of last year.
