I started around the middle to end of March this year - I sort of lurked for a couple of weeks before launching myself in here (!) and had my first WEM mid-April
Last month I had two fairly fantastic prizes - an Aspinal bag from the Telegraph and a pair of Liberty Nike trainers, along with some smaller prizes (2 x Galaxy books, tickets etc). My DS was remarkably lucky, winning a wii and wii fit from only a dozen or so comp entries (it was a daily and he only entered it once!)

This month it's tickets all the way (even DS won some tickets with a wii game!). I enter around 100/120 per day, but only things I can use or tickets for events we can go to.

When I first started I'd read the thread that suggested it may be 6 months 'til I won anything. I know I've been very lucky and there'll be dry patches, but when those come I hope I'll be posting comps that others can win.

    Hope something comes very soon!

    Good Luck! :D

Maybe that's the only way, I so sympathise with Baby Face, I was feeling the same until I saw that a couple of people enter 100-150a day - I don't enter that many in 5 years! No wonder I never win. How on earth do you find the time? Or do people have some sort of system to help do them. If so, please let us in on the secret.

So I've completely lost hope now! Good luck Baby Face!

I was feeling the same until I saw that a couple of people enter 100-150a day......How on earth do you find the time?

Well personally I get the time to enter as many as I do as I can't work and anything I win makes me feel better as I'm making a contribution to the family :rotfl: some weeks I'll enter 100-150 per day, some weeks I can't enter at all

...and that's when the addiction becomes apparent...I know there are comps ending that I haven't entered and it gives me the jitters :rotfl:

...I haven't a clue how people with a full time job *and* a house to run manage to win at all :rotfl:

When i started comping i never won a thing! But then i got the odd little thing which made my day! I am having a good month or two at the moment, but i know next month the comping fairy may not be so kind! I see it a bit like the lottery but the odds are better and you don't spend a £1 each time you enter, i comp for fun and if we get a prize it's a massive bonus!

    I won, I won, I won!
I been comping for about 2 years, last year was a great year won lots of totally different things ranging from meeting the sugarbabes to meeting harry hill - not alot in the way of money!! This year I've not won alot compared to this time last year. The biggest I've won this year is a cruise (didn't enjoy though) and itunes (which have useful) so really its just chance, as upto now (excluding the itunes) I haven't had a win in over a month (not even the odd dvd's) I also do alot of postal/text comps been doing them about a year and only one win in that space of time

    So good luck
  • I've only been comping properly the last month or so but I only enter the comps I would like to win. It does surprise me on here sometimes when people try and win 17 of the same item, especially on the instant wins! Sometimes it annoys me as well because those people who have won each of the Galaxy books 3 times are stopping others from winning them when tehy don't actuially need/want them but I guess that's life!

Certain people seem to be very lucky, for instance over the last couple of months I've on the items in my signature which is quite a bit bearing in mind I don't actually enter very many comps. Ironically though, since I've been making an effort to enter them I haven't actually won anything and I'm extremely unlucky when it comes to the instant wins!

There are no guarentees but all I can say is spend on your time on things you would like to win then if and whwn you do you'll enjoy it instead of thinking "great but what do I do with it?"! Also, look out for the comps which require a bit of effort, the more effort, the less likely people are to enter.

Also, if you look at what people have won as a general rule they are mainly smallish things (doesn't make them less valuable!) and things like a once in a lifetime holiday aren't regular wins - unfortunately!

My own way for entering the dailies is to once a week or so look over the list on here for ones of interest. Then I bookmark them. Each day I go through my bookmarks to enter. I find this saves having to look through the list on here each day. When I no longer want to enter I delete them from my bookmarks.

Not figured out the monthly ones yet but will probably use a similar sort of list system.

I guess if I stop enjoying comping I'll stop entering. Chances are you won't win so you need to enjoy the process, possibnly more than the actual prize because if you work out the time you take entering comps and compare it to the value of the prizes won you'll generally find you're on far less than minimal wage!

On a positive note though when I won the kiln the guy I spoke to said "you always think more people enter than actually do" and I think he was right.

I started around May last year and won a goodie bag thing within the first week. Then nothing until around March this year when I won a pc game, since then Ive had at least one win a week. The only biggish prize I have won is a smartphone though, my prizes have been mainly a couple of CD's, books, chocolate etc. I won a pack of batteries last week.

When you start winning though you get addicted, well I do haha, and I always need to make time in the day to sit down and enter the comps otherwise I feel Im missing out on something. I guess its healthier than a gambling addiction though :)

You find time by using software like Roboform that allows you to autofill forms rather than typing in the same details over and over, you log in and stay logged in on as many sites as will allow it (and actually work  ) and you have a reasonably stable internet connection! I can enter some comps with about two clicks and it's done. Takes two seconds.

I don't enter many ticket comps because a lot of them are in London and I'm in Lancashire. Even a lot of the ones for the North West I don't enter because I have small children and find it difficult to get a free babysitter at short notice!

tbh, I don't count the number of comps I enter daily but it's got to be more than 50. I only enter comps with prizes I want to win or I know I can give as a present to close family, and there are certain companies comps I avoid entering -eg Nestle and all associated comps, and all Caudwell companies. There are some sites that I just can't get my logon to work on too -(Nuts, anyone?) so I've given up on them now.
