Selling Item: Safe to post before receiving payment?

I am trying to sell my Dell M1530 laptop on another website and would like some tips!
Because I am new to that website and this one! The buyer wants me to post the laptop first before paying! I am really not sure if I should, I told them that I accept payment by Paypal and Bank Transfer. So can he just refuse to pay me and scam me?
Please help! many thanks :hello:

Are you sure? Because he has earned a high reputation on the website (hotukdeals) with a lot of feedback.
Even tho he has very good feedback i wouldn't trust him i myself have recently being scammed and the person had a good reputation and 100% good feedback no bad and he has now gone from ebay and i can't get my money back.
Why would someone not pay if they are genuine0 -
NO!
NO!
NO!
(Do I need to continue?!)
Never, ever post before you have payment & it's cleared, whatever his / her feedback may be. (Feedback can be earnt on lots of 1p, free postage items, Accounts can be hijacked etc.)
Don't worry whether they think you're mean not to trust them either. Who cares what they think? They're not your friends!
Please have a good read through the "Selling on Ebay advice threads," on here. They'll have good advice that will no doubt apply to your website too. Take note of Paypal requirements while you're there.
(Is it Gumtree by the way? I got no ends of "Will you post your item to Nigeria, Italy, Lithuania," etc emails when I listed a high spec phone there.)
Hope this helps & you've listened to the unwavering advice here!Worse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0 -

My profile name there is Nom@n, and I posted that deal 16th May 2009 at about 7:20pm.
If what I have done above is naughty im sorry!!0 -
I don't need to go and have a look - it's insane to consider posting an item before getting paid for it... I don't care who's buyingMy TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
