T-Mobile USB Dongle-Cancellation

My usb dongle started to go really slow 5k-10K,usually well over 1000K.Phoned t-mobile and they needed 5 examples of it being slow,was told the signal in my area was really bad?has been fine for the last year of having the dongle.3 weeks later and still not working and them replacing the dongle,I asked about canceling the contract only 12 months into a 24 month.
They said Yes:T and the cancellation fee will be added to the store's losses,where you purchased the contract.
