my plan exactly :j just printing off a few from work so i can use them this and next week. saving money by using works paper and ink :p
  • Last time (100 points with any purchase) I did a bundle of low value transactions, and one of the Saturday girls patiently went through it as separate tranactions. I 'bought' chocolate & sweets, fizzy drinks, cheap magazines and basic paper and pens for large daughter at University. The kids were dead excited about a bag of free chocolate and dire magazines!

Well I printed off this voucher and took it into the Sittingbourne store, but the refused to honour iton the grounds that:

    a) They've never seen them before
    b) It looked dodgy from being printed
    c) The assistant spoke to the store manager who said not to accept it
    d) They called someone at head office who denied the promotion existed!

I didn't have the url to hand to prove this and left the store a bit embarassed as the assistant was not quiet in her tones to me about they can't accept dodgy self-printed vouchers!

    brob11,
When there was the voucher for £1 worth of clubcard points a few weeks ago, I was also accused by the assistant of using a photocopied voucher. Luckliy I had not cut the voucher out so the url was still on the page.
When I pointed out to them that the voucher came from their own website and they could see this on the voucher, they quickly changed their minds and scanned it.
If I were you I would complain to Head Offiice. There is no excuse for them being rude and embarassing a customer , especially as you were in the right.
  • I had the same problem. Luckly I still had the rest of the page with the url on (screwed up in my bag) so they decided to accept it in the end, but they made me feel like I'd typed the voucher myself! :o But I don't mind a bit of embarrassment for a free £1.50 :rotfl:

brob11, I would write to headoffice - it is off their own website! I'm sure they will give you 150 points plus something for your embarrassment and hassle.
    :p Proud to be a MoneySaver! :p

you should have asked them to at least try it, guy who took mine wasnt sure about it but when he typed in the code from the barcode/ or scanned it wasnt really watching he commented how he wasnt aware of it until then. it came up on the till and receipt 150 bonus free points. hardly like your gonna be able to hack they're tills are you?

The barcode doesn't actually scan this time (well not when i tried it anyway) but if the cashier does enter the bar code number it will come up as grilli said as "150 bonus points", then later on the receipt it will say under club card:

    Bonus Points: 150

I work at WHSmith, and its a bit poor that they didn't place the logo on it or the Terms and Conditions. They have placed cut lines around the voucher which takes away all the terms and conditions, hardly helpful to make it look genuine.

Oh and btw i got another email today with the link in, this time promoting WHSmith flower services.

Nice laddie on tills, rather than put my five items through together, rang them all through as one transaction, and credited me with 5 vouchers worth of points. He said the voucher did not say only one per transaction, and points credited correctly. If you're there, look for Jamie - he's great.

Mine did not scan in either as the print quality of this one is much worse than the rest, and I had a colour version with the outside in my bag to prove I had not photocopied it.

Do you have a process by which you can feed this back? I think the logo would be really useful, as would be perhaps some colour within the voucher to prove you've not been abusing the office photocopier?
