    Bah.

Just back from the hospital - more early contractions, cervix still 4cm thick and looking formidable and closed. No reason for the contractions at all - and it took the poor doctor about 25 attempts to get ten heartbeats in a row from the Bellyfrog because she wouldn't stay still long enough.

Worse contractions this time. If labour's worse than those pains I can't do it.

Oh, and they absolutely covered my nethers in Betadine because they were doing invasive things and now my foof looks like an Essex chav.

Oh SS, how scary for you. Glad to hear that bubs is safe in there though and hopefully the pains will die off.

SM- no advice except to let midwife know today when you see her and see what she says.

Off to work in a mo, but then I have two days off after today. Can't wait for a lie and to slob about. Barely have the energy to get dressed today! Hubby is working this evening so hopefully I can just take over the whole sofa and watch what I like on TV. Looking forward to ER night on more4.....

SugarSpun - glad everything is okay. Adrenaline and the "omigod this is really it" will carry you through some of the first contractions when you do get to that point!

SM - I've had some swelling down there off and on for the last month or so - mine's due to varicose veins (yup ick!) and increased blood supply. It usually swells up when I've been on my feet too much. Best thing is to check with the midwife though, and she can check it.

    http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60113928

this one loks nice and thick as some cheaper ones looked very thin but they have a good range of them as well. and you can order online too.

i'm ordering the cot tomorrow/saturday and mattress as well!!

oops seen prec posts bout horrendous charges and bad delivery... i may have to persuade hubby to take me instead... or pay more and get one from mothercare.
sorry it may not have been as helpful as i first thought...

    Hi ladies,

Congrats to Krystal, MrsT and everyone else who's been knocked off the list! I'm now 14th !!

My DS is going camping today with the neighbours until Saturday - I'm trying not to fret because I know he'll love it and be absolutely fine, but still............

I've washed all the baby clothes, except whilst ironing them the dog managed to knock the iron off and burn the carpet  So got to do a bit of strategic furniture placing! We're just in the middle of having the living room decorated too. Have phoned the carpet shop and it's £300 for a new carpet, so that's on the back burner till I can save up!

Sending labour vibes to you, Candice :T

Right best go and finish packing DS's stuff - catch you all later (got more time now I've finished work lol)

i must be mad, got up at 7 cus its payday today, and looked at online banking and im rich again, worked the easter holidays so good money!! Then i decided to follow in OH footsteps and did some painting, it was the fire place, ive been wanting to replace it for the 3 yrs we've been in this house, but looking at it now, it looks good, the only thing is we cant have an inset fire so gonna have trouble finding a nice one to replace the old one. OH was finally patient enough to hold his hand on my belly for more than 5 seconds last night and felt loads of movement! Even one big hefty kick which he was surprised at! :D:D:D:D

And this morning, I was lying on my side and had my arm across my belly and I could feel this rhythmic movement which I think was Hiccups!!!!
    :D:D:D:D

Payday for me tomorrow - so will be updating my sig with my savings!!

Spoke to my sis yesterday (age 9) she is so cute!
'Is it still a boy?' - Um, yes I hope so!
'Is it still called Jack?' - not sure yet
'Are you really fat?' - well, in your eyes yes!

She wants to buy some clothes for him out of her pocket money and wouldn't take No for an answer bless!!
