For your own sanity, have you looked at the other threads on here about this subject? In true MSE style, people have reported huge success in minimising sound travel using things like bookcases full of books against walls, thicker carpets, even egg cartons fixed to walls or flat surfaces. It doesn't have to cost a huge amount or even be permanent to help considerably, and surely even if what you do looks a bit naff, its better than driving yourself slowly insane complaining about something you can do nothing about.

As for "not hearing" the doorbell when you are ringing to complain, my DS who has perfect hearing, often doesn't hear me when I am asking him to do his homework . Could be a bit of this going on perhaps?

well the main thing nicki is the abuse i got off them as well ... o well the council have my notes so i'll see how it goes ...
im hoping to move in the next year... just makes me so mad that its been lovely here for 2 years they move in and it turns to poop x
