I just feel lke I need to be at home right now, keeping an eye on things and trying to sort this mess out.

Nobody but DH knows I signed myself out.

Even if I get a few days maybe I can sort something and I only live 10 mins from the hospital. TBH, im so confused and upset at the minute I dont really know what im doing.

Searching, I'm going to be really unpopular here and stand against the crowd, but unless your neighbours are genuinely playing their music at industrially loud levels (ie it is not just on the slightly louder side of normal in poorly sound insulated flats), then I think it is completely unreasonable to complain about them playing music at 3 in the afternoon, or indeed at 6. Everyone is entitled to enjoy normal life in their own home, and whilst when you live in close proximity to neighbours it is considerate not to play music/hoover/do diy at anti-social hours, it is equally inconsiderate as a neighbour to complain about some noise leakage during social hours.

I do know what it is like, as I lived for 8 years next door to a neighbout who played the bagpipes, not very well! However, he didn't play them late into the evening, and I tolerated the noise pollution during the afternoon and early evenings because he had as much right to pursue his noisy hobby in his own home, as I did to pursue my quieter ones. It's not like there is any reason why you shouldn't go out somewhere in the mid afternoon if you don't like their choice of music.

I really think when your baby arrives and is crying in the middle of the night, it may come back to really haunt you if you have made your neighbour's lives difficult over noise pollution, particularly as it looks like your first complaint was during a wake for a close relative.

There are lots of threads about noisy neighbours all over these boards, with lots of tips as to how you can minimise the extent to which neighbours disturb you, but the sad fact is that if you live in a flat or a terraced house, it is almost inevitable that you will from time to time be disturbed by your neighbours, and in your turn disturb them, and it is rarely very helpful to fall out dramatically over this issue, as once they know which buttons to push, it is easy for them to make life very unpleasant for you for some time to come.

there are approx 12 regular posters on here due from 10th Sept to end of Sept.

Imagine how fast the thread will move when we are all on Mat Leave!!!

Don't I count then :(? I'm only due a little while after you, my last two were both 2 weeks early, and there's a largish gap before the next one to me in the second half of October.

nicki the music has been to 11pm at times and loud i can deal with but the fact that is goes through 2 level and is vibrating through my living room (they live above me) and when at 7-8pm on a school night when my daughter is trying to sleep i think thats out of order ... if it was just at 3 id be inclined to agree but when its 11:39pm and its still playing after ive asked them and got nothing but abuse then they get what they deserve x
