If your stats are correct, and i have no reason to doubt then from

The total land area of the UK is 244,820000 m2

divided by 60,900000 thats gives us 4m2 each ??

I am presuming my maths are wrong.

    I hope they are !!

    Never was my strong point.

its 4000 M^2 per person in the UK. Most people dont live in singles either (unless they are in flats). Its the UK planning laws that are the problem. Especially when you realise how big half of 4000 is...

I read the figure as being a population density of 246/km^2. That means 246 people per square km = 246 per 1,000,000m^2 = 4065 m^2 per person.

Your maths was fine, your comprehension less so. It was put slightly confusingly (or at least that would be my argument if I were you!).

In that case, someone else has got about 80% of my space.

Could it be the Duchy of cornwall , the MoD, The Duke of westminster or some other person who stole land from the peasantry centuries ago?
