Hi all,
Well, very tired after my days working and travelling. I had a couple of days where I needed to spend and then an indulgent spend this morning... chocolate and flour for a special pancake breakfast...for me!!! BF was having a fry up which I don't like very much.
I have decided to call it my low spend version of a weekend brunch out somewhere!
Left to do this weekend:- check HB form to hand in this week
- tesselate diary; work, child care, shopping, chores, BF etc
- running
- yellow sticker shop at ASDA after 9pm...not an owl so this is a challenge, don't like hopping on my bike after 6pm
- invoices
- check MSE for broadband best deal
- sort hoover which is blocked
:eek::eek::eek:
...this will take me YEARS...ok, maybe a day or two or three....:o

Good evening everybody :j
Really lazy day today - apart from food shopping and shopping for a dog cage to fit the back of OH's car to fit both doglets in. It took ages and we had to go to several shops with the measurements but we got one eventually. At last we will be able to take them out in the car with us without them either jumping all over us (potentially dangerous) or barricaded into the hatchback, which looks like a RSPCA case. We got one for a REALLY good price as well, so all good - but I hate that sort of shopping, so tiring and BORING! Also went to the garden centre for some more compost and succumbed to some cabbage and butternut squash plants as well, and DD2 persuaded us to take her out to lunch, so definitely not a NSD
Apart from that - stripped bed off but haven't washed bedding as it keeps raining here
Washed one of the charity shop coats I bought yesterday, so saved £14.99  which is what it costs to dry clean coats around here. Had to pay for the other one though, as I didn't want to risk washing it, as the material is a bit odd (in a nice way!)
Seen to animals and plants as usual
Sold a book on Amazon :T
Entered reading from gas meter online as requested :A
Must catch up with the housework tomorrow
Andan, you make me feel really lazy with your huge lists  - do take care!
Have a nice evening everyone :hello:0 -
hello all, happy weekend
not doing much as today went to watch the scottish kennel club show (which was as big as crufts!!) and spent a pretty penny (£3 on parking, £5 entry, £5 catalogue and £4.60 on a show lead)
So now, training dog to stand pretty like show dog
checking to see if any shows coming up in my area
eating from stores
not spending on any more petrol and making dd go meet her friend for sleepover rather than me picking her up
finding and adding up all spends so far and inputting into spreadsheet
thats about itDFW 228 LONG H 68

Thanks, really love the weekend threads, nice to refer back to the previous day, wish we could do week long threads but might be a bit mad lol
Work went well, saw both my saturday colleague and the colleague I will hand over to/take over from on weekdays. Both really nice and easy to get along with. Feeling much more settled about it all. Have got my hours for june but will need to keep rechecking as apparently they get swapped about all over the place  at a moments notice......but looking good so far. No kettle or toilet at work so starting to think about that - will take in a flask of coffee to save nipping out and buying it, will take lunch made up and so will just need to get round the loo issue. At the moment they close for 5 mins for loo breaks and only an issue when you are working alone so will see how that goes.0 -

Hi all  I have posted on and off on this thread before but probably not for a couple of years. Well OH has reached the end of his PhD funding and has no job at present and is lacking motivation in finishing his thesis  we had 3 months 'slush' money no problem as he'd saved that from some extra money he was given last year but 1/2 way through that already - do have some savings but they will go quickly at this rate. Although I'm very fortunate that I had my 'lightbulb moment' before I actually got into debt (mortgage and both our student loans excluded) I've spent the last 4 years desperately trying to stay out of debt, facing one challenge after another as we all do.
Have just returned from a week's holiday (combined with a wedding and a long way away so no 'extra' travel costs there and back and our week in a cottage self catering was pretty cheap, no extra hotels for the wedding and our National trust (wedding present) and English heritage (Tesco clubcard deals) helped with things to do.
Sorry not trying to hijack thread into an essay, but earlier remembered it and thought I'd try and join in and post as it always gave me a boost and I really need to stay focussed now so:
Today I:- Paid in change saved up £20 holiday money my mum gave me which we didn't spend - all into our holiday fund (which may become our actual living money)
- Took library books and maps for holiday back to the library on their due date (5 OS maps for 3 weeks for free, I love our library and we didn't get lost at all!)
- Paid £15.50 onto Boots giftcard for things I sold before holiday - it's part of my 100 day challenge on this board - selling old cosmetics and using the money to buy new things I actually like/need once the old ones have run out.
- Food shopping, stuck to list and picked up some good reduced things and offered.
- Checked receipt on way out and 2 reduced things had gone through at full price - checked this at CS and 84p back :T
- Picked up 30 Euro cents from floor by Coinstar - if I ever get a holiday abroad I now have 5 Euros worth of coins to take most of which have been found:rolleyes:
- Dinner was made from reduced meat picked up today and extra portions now in the freezer
- Picked up a mystery shop
- 2 1/2 more squares done for my blanket - knitting - keeps me busy and will hopefully keep me warm in the winter.
- 1 load of washing 30 quick wash and on airer.
- Have a big garden day, lots of plants to pot up/look after after a week away, many of them vegetables we're growing for the first time.
- Continue with sorting our accounts out - getting everything up to date
- Put 3 lots at least on ebay
- Spend 30 minutes sorting things in spare room as it's become a dumping ground
- Will attempt a NSD
- Complete square and knit another 2.
- one question - what's the 101 list thing? Is there a thread about it somewhere - haven't really caught up after my holiday on here  Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
Initial Mortgage free date - January 2058
Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98
Overpayments to date - £79.62
