When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Good morning gang - thought I'd post this to get us going.....hope Mogchops isn't doing the same as I type;)

Woke up early today so sat in bed with laptop and a cuppa...what a relief when I rememebred it was Saturday!

Here's my list....

  • daily scratchies
  • write next week's meal plan
  • write list to go with said meal plan
  • Go to town - park and ride, much cheaper and less petrol

  • list more on ebay (up to 22 now:j)
  • ironing
  • washing is on quickwash - probably go on airer today:o
  • Bags of soft toys from girls room up the attic (or on ebay:rotfl:)
  • sort out paperwork thats hanging around
  • take drinks to town for girls
and this isn't DFW but....buy indian takeaway for us tonight;) (have got rice leftover from last night to add to the takeaway rice so willsave money on one portion!!)

Anyway....have a lovely Saturday:D
I really need to sort out a new signature!

:DMilly I thought only we did that:D

We usually either have rice ready at home (i cant tell the difference) or keep leftovers and use it - at £1.95 a tub of rice it all adds up

Chick - nice to see you up and happy today - hope weahter holds out

    - money is like men, utterly unreliable if left to its own devices, tells you fibs, you constanstly need to keep an eye on it (even when its OK) and needs constant management to keep you happy:rotfl:

You guys were so welcoming yesterday, I'm back! Was having a low day yesterday but feeling ok today (so far!). OH is working, so it's just me and tiddler today so that may slow my jobs down - she likes to "help"!
    1. Work out meal plan for week
    2. Go to supermarket
    3. Get all washing and ironing done for the week ahead
    4. Take a load of rubbish to the tips
    5. Calculate my SOA - very, very scared about this!
I think that's all I'll plan for today so that I can hopefully get that done and feel a sense of achievement rather than add more and be disappointed!

Hope you all have a productive and lovely day today.

Sorry no manners - missed you yesterday - Welcome to rc01

Just think of your tiddler as 'your apprentice' - and if you need a hand hold later on with your soa - give us all a shout when you are about to do it - if someones around they will definately make sure your hand is held.

I posted mine scary, some of it hard to hear - but its really made a difference :)

I was 300 a month deficit before i posted mine so good luck

How old is tiddlerchops? Too small to do the washing up but still small enough to fit up a chimney?

My two use to 'dust away the snow (dust) for the fairies whist looking for fairy footprints' - evil mother

Thanks Fayjmck I'm finding it hard keeping up with everyone, but I'll soon remember names and stories!! My DD is 3 1/2 so has to help with everything!! She likes food shopping cos I get her to find things. I may have to put a DVD on for her when I do my SOA - bad mummy, but it is for the greater good of our family!!!

I know there's going to be a deficit, I'm just not sure I want to actually know how bad it is! I am in denial! Thanks for the hand holding offer.
