Has anyone got any experience of Baumatic?
My parents have a Baumatic oven/hob and extractor and this has always worked well
They also do most other appliances, including
dishwasher
washing machine
dryer
They seem to do the above in integrated at very reasonable prices
i.e.
dishwasher £222
washing machine £340
dryer £220
just wondered what the quality is like....the only similar priced integarted appliances is indesit (they get very poor reviews)
which? magazine doesnt seem to have done any reports on baumatic
anyone know if anyone owns baumatic etc
any help would be great
thanks

Baumatic is a low priced Italian brand that a lot of people seem to speak very highly of.
I was in a newsgroup recently where the general feedback on a posting was that they seem as good, if not better, then a lot of brands perhaps twice the price.0 -
thanks for that redonred
anyone else got any thoughts on Baumatic?0 -
found the following:
the website below (which sells appliances) also gives ratings for each manufacturer
ie

Build Quality
After Sales

a mod from ukwhitegoods.co.uk states that baumatic don't make anything...they just rebadge stuff
he seems to think that baumatic stuff is merloni (who also make servis)
and appartently are not any good....anyone any thoughts on this?0 -
I have to say that i'd be inclined to avoid Baumatic - the brand doesn't appeal to me.
Having said that, all of our household appliances are Bosch which were all bought around the same time when we first moved in to our house about 6 years ago and they've all been faulty.
All Bosch stuff...
Hob - needed new handle valves
Oven - inner glass door recently broke
Fridge freezer - Plastic handles always breaking. On fourth now.
Extractor fan - Light plays up a lot and fuse recently went.
Washing machine - First one lasted six years...so not too bad.
Oh and a Panasonic combination microwave that's just packed up after 4 years and they wanted £124 to repair, so went out and got an equivalent for £149 last Friday.
So you don't always get what you pay for I suppose. Although the look and feel of Bosch does feel better quality.0 -
Last night before going to bed I turned on my dishwasher - 40 minutes later the smoke alarm is going off and the entire bottom tray had melted in my Baumatic dishwasher.
The dishwasher is 4 years old and has had more visits from an engineer than I care to mention and I definitely would NOT recommend the company - It broke down within the first six months - then again at 12 months, 18 months - need I go on. It once broke down 3 weeks before christmas and it took the company 12 weeks to finally repair it.
Nuff said eh :mad:0 -
We had a new kitchen fitted around 2-3 years ago now, and used all Baumatic integrated appliances.
Unfortunately, within this time we have had 2 washer/dryer machines fail (first was replaced under warranty, second was just out of warranty) and recently our dishwasher also failed.
So based on my experience so far, I would avoid Baumatic. I've replaced the washing machine & Dishwasher with Hotpoint ones now.
btw, make sure to search around on the web, as when I replaced these items recently, I could not believe the price ranges for the same make/models. Some varied by 100% in price from one site to another!0
