    Morning Chums ,
weather isn't very nice at the moment and my DGS want me to drop him off this morning to go fishing,he must be balmy !
My cold is still at the sneezy, drippy stage and I must get some more paracetamol today.
Had a nice lamb hot pot from the freezer las night with garlicky mash, but everything tastes the same at the moment because of my cold . Where is the sunshine gone I thought we were going to have some warm weather I had to put the heating on last night it was so cold. Oh well, day two of cold so hopefully it will start to get better tomorrow.
I emailed Heinz and apparently they have ceased to make anymore of their Tomato ketchup with a twist of garlic so if you see any in the shops buy it as there won't be anymore .I am going to mix some ordinary ketchup with some lazy garlic to try and replicate the flavour. It really is delicious, and I'm not normally keen on ketchup much at all.
have a good week-end everyone and maybe the sun might come out tomorrow
    Cheers JackieO

Nic we had a huge storm last night too, when it was easing the teen DD.s decided they 'had' to go out in it, so as far as can see I have a mound of wet washing, a muddy kitchen floor and a messed up lawn
thats teenagers for you, they had a 'wicked' time apparently:rolleyes:

Aussie (((hugs))) not sure whats happening but i hope things are ok

Tru sorry about Pink chook, hope the others are ok

Jackie hope you feel better soon x

hoping for a quiet day today, DD1 will be revising we have no swimming club or gym club this weekend , so that should save on petrol

need to do some washing, but until it stops raining there is nowhere to dry it ( unless I put the heating on :o )
chicken curry for tea and I am going to have a go at making naan bread and THESE ( saw the recipe on another thread)

hope you all have a great weekend x

    Hi all! :hello:

Been MIA due to a busy life but still trying to keep to my new found OS ways.

Last night of playing Buttercup in HMS Pinafore tonight then I'm looking forward to having a few more evenings in!

DGD's 1st birthday today and she's having a big party tomorrow with all of her extended family. I'm sure she will love all the attention. She was sat waving to everyone who passed her in Mr M's yesterday. I told OH she would make a good substitute for the Queen especially as she has everyone at her beck and call!!

OS wise, made 2 pavlovas last night for the party and left them in the oven overnight to dry out "a la Delia". Decorating birthday cake this afternoon. Managed to pick up some small INTG figures from B & M to go on the top so I'm cheating really. :o

Well off to town now to pick up a few bits.

Hugs to everyone who needs them and have a great weekend.

    Morning all,

Aussie I take it your DH has discharged himself ? , dont they make you cross , I hope he continues to improve, and you managed to get some rest, big kiss xx

Thanks for the good wishes yesterday, I felt really rough as the day wore on, and ended up going to bed at 9.30, I slept right through till 8 this morning, and do feel a bit better.

OH has gone off to the bootie, lets hope he comes back with more profit makers, the bike bits are still on £170, not bad for £10 stake :T.

Today we have dd with us, she is normally with her dad, but he has swapped it till tomorrow, so we may go into town for a wander round, I need new bras and slippers. Also want to get the Times today for the recipe booklet.

Chicken legs with nice bread, and salad bits for tea, might pop into waitrose while in town and treat us to some nice bits.

One wash in the wm and two to go in, not sure how I will dry it, as its looking gloomy out there, might put it on the airer in the conservatory.

Plants are doing well, my tomatoes are covered in flowers, but my cucumbers never appeared , might have to buy some plants today.

    Have good days all xx

Oh Aussie I hope he's ok. What a shock for you. Please look after yourself too. Give yer man a big slobbery kiss from me. That'll get him moving.

Hope you're feeling better soon Ruby. x

Have managed to get the laptop to work in the garden this morning so sitting here listening to the birdies and drinking coffee.
Last night was really realy lovely and OH surprised me with a beautiful necklace. Not sure why as we don't usually do big prezzies but for this post only I have temporarily upgraded him to DH. :D
The meal was as great as we expected and we shared a platter of scallops, crayfish, langoustines, smoked salmon, smoked cod, cockles, mussels, crab and a lobster. And yes Aussie, a dozen oysters. ;)

FIL babysat the children so today I shall mostly be tidying that up.
Off to the plant sale later that I went to last week only to discover it was on this week. :o Need a cucumber plant as all 3 of mine have died. Weather looks bright now and is warm but we are forecast rain.

Haven't thought about tea yet but may be soup as I have chicken stock on the hob. May even go nettle picking if DH gets up soon. ;)

Tru, I am going to say nothing about poor Pink chicken other than I doubt if she's like her namesake she died from doing too much cleaning of the coop. ;) And tell Penny chicken to lay off. Harry might seem lovely and sweet but she can peck as hard as any when riled. ;):D:cool:

    Take care all

  • Hi all

Having a lazy day today as DS at his dads till tomorrow morning. After the stress of this week I am having a PJ day and lazing doing my meal plans etc. Have a few tins of tuna to use up as fatcat wont eat it as it was in oil not brine:rolleyes:....may make some individual tuna pastas and freeze for work days.
Still trying to use up the bags of sliced greens MrT sent me whe I only asked for 1 cabbage, I have enough greens to power a wind farm:o....any suggestions gratefully received....I love greens but running out of ideas.
I emailed DS`s SENCO today re the performance at school this week where they totally failed my son....have given it with both barrels but politely:cool: see what they say.
Am fancying some ginger buns so may do them today too ( see I cant really do lazy:rotfl:)
OH at work and he is cooking egg chips and beans for tea.
I also have a pile of vegi cookbooks from the library to trawl through and photocopy;)
HJ glad you both enjoyed your meal....did the dozen oysters lead to a treat a la Hester?
Glad to see you are not going kayaking with your cold Redruby
Sistercas those onion bhajis look fab, one of OHs faves but have never made them as I thought they always involved lots of hot oil, will be giving those a try thank you.
Has anyone ever made their own potato gnocchi? I want to have a go as am sure they will taste better than the premade ones, recipe looks easy but not sure if they will turn out heavy.
well off for another ginger tea....have good days everyone

    Morning,

The weather seems to be swapping between rain, showers and bits of sun here so I don't think we'll get any outside jobs done. DH is at work all weekend but at least it's extra pay for us.

I'm going to the pictures with DS3 this afternoon once he has decided what we will be watching  Dinner this evening is the meatballs that I made yesterday that nobody wanted as they fancied the chippy  But no cooking for me today so I'll not be too mad. I have a sinus infection thats making me feel very dizzy & giving me headaches. I got some antibiotics from the doctors yesterday so hopefully they'll begin to work in the next day or two.

(((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) Aussie and anyone else who needs them today. Have a good one all xxx

    Morning everyone.
On here late today as I had a lie in this morning :j Me and H had a childfree night last night as they stayed over with my parents :D So we decided to go out for a pub meal last night (not too expensive) and I had a lovely open chicken pie - it was delish :D
Got to pick the kids up and then we're going to a free family fun day so i am hoping that the weather holds out for us. Not a great deal of OS going on today. Need to go and get some food shopping done as some point (oh joy I just love shopping on a saturday ).

Have a good day everyone OS or not.
