Hi all.

I am in the fortunate position of having the F&F discount for life. I am now out of my 1st 18month contract, which was on Flext 35+web'n'walk.

I would like to save a few pennies as I don't use anywhere near my allowance. Is there a minimum tariff I need to keep the 50% discount, does it have to be a flext or can it be solo or combi?

Thanks for any help given.

Cheers Si

Thanks for the reply mchale. I take it you have the F&F discount as well.

Anyone else have any experience with this?

If you are on 'life' discount you should be eligible for 50% any tariff, however if you go on to new plans like Combi I would confirm with the agent that you will get it.

You should be fine on flext tariffs.

The new F&F scheme (you are not on it), requires your after discount spend to be at least £15. The life one should have no limits.

    Cheers for the reply greyster.

Good to have a little bit more info before I ring up about a new contract. As I am downgrading I suppose the chance of a free phone will be out the window!?!

Its calculated on your spend per month. As you are on the F&F scheme, if your on a mid range tariff you are still not spending a lot because of the discount. Therefore you will get some free phones available but don't expect free 'expensive' phones. I have a colleague on F&F and he moved from Flext 20 to 35 to get a free G1. It includes data usage so not a bad deal.

My view is that they are valuing the G1 lower than the market rate. Thats why they are more likely to do a better deal on G1 for customers than another phone of the same market value. Its their flagship phone at the moment, 1 in 5 phones sold are G1 for t-mobile.

Thanks for your help on this greyster.
I'm certainly not a high spender, infact I often have £140+ of my £180 allowance left!!!!!

Thats really why I think I might downgrade and save some pounds. I would quite like the G1, but not so sure that they would give it to me free if I downgrade to flext 20+w'n'w for example.

    All the best Si

ask them what you can have on each tariff then make a decision. Good luck.
