I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that ISAs are just more hassle than they're worth, especially considering the current low rates on offer. In twelve months time even those institutions offering higher rates now will be less competitive and so necessitate another frustrating and time consuming switch to another provider. At least with an instant access savings account you can take your stash out and move it to a better payer without all the form filling and delays. Some of the interest rates currently being offered are equal to or better than many ISA accounts and in any case, what's the use of an extra 0.25% if the stress involved in achieving it ends up damaging your sanity and your health.0

I've just called them on the number opas used, and was told that YES I would get the 3.5% rate, as my application was made on 5th May. But she reminded me that it's not a fixed rate and so it may change in the future.... Now to work out how to fill out the transfer form from my Nationwide ISA, who have a 9 digit account number and don't give a sort code!0

Had the same problem with my xfer from the Skipton BS.
I just crossed-out the sort-code & account number boxes and wrote in the 9 digit account number and the BS name & address in the blank space just below them.
It's worked so far, the Skipton have sent the cheque to NW but it hasn't appeared in my account yet.0 -
For what it's worth, I'm in the same boat as some here (did the online application prior to the 15th, haven't sent documents back yet) and the customer services rep I spoke to also confirmed that applications dated prior to the 15th would receive the higher rate.0

I dam sure you're right, we get brain washed by all the advice to use up cash allowances 1st and the banks use this to advantage by keeping ISA rates low. It stinks.
And before anyone chips in to say you should still keep money in there, I and the wife have pretty much the max it has been possible to save in cash ISAs so far, just pieved at the treatment from the banks, (all of them).:mad::mad::mad:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

If it;s the Natinowide Instant Access Cash ISA, then there is a sort code printed on the inside cover of the passbook. As regards the account number, just write it in when you print off the form.0
