    I wouldn't worry.
I applied for a Virgin CC a couple of months ago, after I completed the online application they gave me the same message-"We need to make more checks,we'll get back to you etc". I never heard anything for about 3 weeks, then one day I got a letter through the door asking me to call them to confirm a few details, after a couple of minutes on the phone I was accepted and got my card and pin through the post after a couple of days. :D

I'm of the same opinion as you: If you were rejected then you surely would have heard something by now.
    Good luck.
  • Just thought i'd add to this thread, i applied last week and got the same message as above and still havent heard anything ... but you'd think with them having your email address they would atleast give some kind of email confirmation of the application?! the process makes you feel unsure if the application has gone through okay, if there was an online error ...

I also applied last week and havn't heard anything so i rang them and got an automated message saying due to advertising they have had an overwhelming response and applications are taking upto 3 weeks, so i guess we'll have to wait a little longer

    virgin application......
I'm afraid I don't believe in lying on a CV, so there are certain jobs I really can't apply for.

Just to update, after not hearing anything for nearly 3 weeks i rang Virgin and on the automated telephone service it mentioned it can take up to 21 days because of the amounts of applications they have recieved and the next day i had i call to say i have been accepted :j
  • youre lucky - everytime I apply its a instant no!
  • I try every six months!and my file is decent!
  • Yep, I applied a week ago and got the same message. I have tried with them 3 times in the past when my credit history was not perfect and always got an instant no. I have 2 credit cards now, 2 catalogues, a joint loan and a string of greens, no defualts or missed payments and using about 45% of my available credit. I am on the electoral roll and have been in my job for 4 years so if they say no this time I am not gonna be happy!
