Mums are worriers by nature - she probably didnt mean to have a go

Think it's coz she's never had any debt. If she couldn't afford it she went without it! Why oh why couldn't I have her money genes! :rotfl:

Something to do with x and y chromosomes

I hate to ask but are you sure she doesnt suspect something?

There must be a behavioural shift between the spending and the thrifty years  that she would have picked up on

I don't think so. My lightbulb moment kind of coincided with splitting up with my ex so the holidays would have stopped anyway which would account for a bit! I don't know to be honest.

I know how you feel- I don't tell my parents anything about our finances but my brother tells them all his problems. My mother emails me complaining about my brother's reckless attitude with money and he's probably got less than half the amount that I have!

BTW hubby got a £300 car bill yesterday so I recommended he got to grips with matched betting. After a 10 minute brief by me and then taking him through his Coral starter he is now hooked... wish I'd grasped it that quickly!

She probably thinks your saving for a deposit or something :rotfl: - if you start getting food processors and stuff for Xmas then you'll know.

And heres a happy thought - your challenge matched betting profits could pay off 2% of your debt :T :T :T

We've only been doing it two weeks so I reckon you could do 5% by Xmas

You can have one of my cats Jess. They don't have up to date Maestro cards though.

Or....do what I did and get married. Change all your cards into your married name (Scouser, maybe?) but keep a credit card in your old name. Worked for Coral and I'm hoping it'll work for a few more when I manage to get the laptop away from hubby who's desperately trying to catch up with my profits.
