  • Duh :-[ how stupid do I feel :P thanks MM

Thing is here is another stupid question. Even though I am not currently an Egg holder. If I took one out now on the current BT does this mean in a years time I would then be offered this anniversary deal.

The reason I ask is that in one of Martins posts he mentions that Egg expect some people to 'play the BT game' but that Egg expect this to be well offset by various things such as memory loss and more pertinently new customers. That is why I got the impression I could apply.

    Cheers

    LM :)

I have had my card for a year this March and according to EGG I have to wait until March 2005 to get the anniversary offer?

I think Egg are offering 0% BT to new customers at the moment, so yes you could apply. When they would consider you for the anniversary offer I don't know. Some people seem to think it is after two years, and I think myself, my son, and my daughter have all had our cards almost that long, so that might be right.
  • Ah haa all is clear now MM.

    Many Thanks

What I'd like to know is where you stand if you used to have an Egg card but chucked it in.

I did this a while ago, after using up the 0% deal, and I had been planning to give it a year or two then move the debt back to Egg again.

It occurs to me that one could surely argue Egg into a corner and demand another 0% deal off them right now. Either I'm a new customer, in which case there should be no problem with the 0% offer; or I'm not, in which case I should be able to reactivate the card and claim my annual 5-month freebie as an existing customer.

    Has anyone tried this on?

Help! I have an Egg card and my 0% anniversary is October. I am almost maxed on my card and have not been offered any 0% rate before October. However, I have just got a Mint card which I was planning to put another current balance on. My question is, if I took the balance off of my Egg card and onto my Mint card. Would Egg then be likely to offer me 0% before the end of March, meaning I could move the balance back to Egg and then use the Mint card for all my other debts? I do hope so! Please help! Any other suggestions most welcome. ;)

My egg story is that I took the card out in June last year to do a balance transfer, parked the cash in a high interest account and walked round with a big smile. ;D

Then they said if I applied for a second cardholder I could have 6 free bottles of wine. Mrw W now has a card and the bottle bank is a bit fuller.

Then they tell me about the anniversary offer. Not only can I do it in June, but they will let me do it in March as well! So it is now maxed out until the end of May when I will pay it off then max it out again on the 1st June for another 5 months.

I did consider moving the high interest money to eggs own savings account and taking advantage of the additional interest bonus and REALLY rubbing it in, but it would take time to set it up gross (as Mrs W is a non tax payer!) so I'll stick with the Halifax.

I love these guys but I suspect they dont like me! ;D

  • Don't forget to get your wife/husband to apply for an Egg card of their very own, six months away from the start date of yours... 8)

To those that used to use this card for regular monthly spend and paid it in full at the end of the month and now plan on using it for the 0% offer.....

Remember to change the automatic payment amount from full payment to minimum payment!

I've not seen this mentioned anywhere and it sounds so obvious but if you forget to do it you will end up with either a bank charge for the refused direct debit or the 0% credit will be paid off before you even start!!

I think egg is making this offer more of a scam unless your one of those lucky few who already have money owning on the card and they think they will be able to make a profit. I have had the card since march 2003 and is unable to get this off until march 2005. :'( ???
