Aww thank you, you lot! You're all completely right, I should be thinking more of a what I have achieved and seen etc.., rather than what I haven't. Glass is usually half full but today I wobbled carrying it across the tightrope of life...

Lostinrates I'm sorry to hear of what you've been through and really pleased to see you've come out the other end sounding like such a fine person! You're right, the support of loved ones just means so much more than anything else.

Thanks guys for helping me take the first wee step out of the doldrums, still feeling a bit odd but your thought provoking texts have helped cheer me up a wee bit.

Sending you all a slice of virtual chocolate cake with smarties, tiny marshmellows and flake scattered over the real chocolate icing..... ooo now I'm hungry ;-)

On the plus side this morning... my lovely thoughtful boyfriend surprised me with a pair of 50's / vintage looking red Norwegian earrings he scoured charity shops for... how nice is that!

Happy b-day, I turned 35 last sunday and I do kind of get where your coming from but for me I feel like I've been in a holding pattern for the last 5 years.

The hardest part though was I wanted to celebrate (35 woohoo) and everyone else thought I'd rather ignore it. So how about we celebrate yours so what will it be jelly and ice-cream or popping outside for a quick bit of dancing in the rain?

Happy Birthday - really, 35 is a lovely age but yes when you get to certain ages you just don't realise that. I was down when I turned 40 and thought thats it Iam as old as the hills, but I will be 42 this year and would prefer to be 40 :D 40 seems young now and of course it is. But anyhow enjoy your day you young thing you :D
Just to win anything would be great!!

Thats exactly how I felt! I still tell people I'm 29 and intend to only celebrate anniversaries of my 29th birthday from now on. This year I'll be celebrating the 2nd anniversary of my 29th! :rotfl:

    Happy Birthday.

When I turned 30 a little while ago I cried all day. I don't know what it is but from now on my birthday doesn't exist. I don't tell anyone when it is and further more I hope they don't remember. :o It's just something about being the big 3 0 that doesn't sit to well with me.

Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful day. Perhaps you could do something to take your mind off it...
