Just wondering if it is possible to load an edited picture on a hard drive back on to a photo memory card?

I dont see why not?
Isnt a memory card just that, a place to store data, edited or otherwise?“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -
Why not try it?0

The camera won't recognise it, as the filename will probably be wrong.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

Yes you can. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

As per espresso, it's 100% possible.
You need to use the card as a storage medium either via the camera connection but as a "mass storage device" (bypassing the camera browsing software), or better still, just via a card reader. You can then move, drag drop files etc, just like with any other storage medium.
I use CF cards as a working file backup on a PDA, syncing really crucial things I work on daily on the card, as a belt and braces backup.
Is the OP asking to see if you can edit a photo to make it look like it was taken with the camera when it really wasn't, editing, uploading and showing to someone less technical that is was a real photo?0 -

Many of the high street kiosks have USB ports for memory sticks too.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

I have done this on various occasions when I wanted to get my editied pictures printed using one of the highstreet digital photo printing services.
please could you explain how you do this in idiot proof way ha ha ? i want to do just what you have and get some pictures printed but dont know how to get them back onto the sd card ??0 -
How you do it depends on which Operating System you have.
Typically in Windows you would use Windows Explorer, find the files on your computer that you want on the card, highlight them (use CTRL left-click if you want to highlight more than one), then right-click any one of those that are highlighted and choose Copy.
Now go to My Computer, open the SD card which will be shown as a removable storage device in your card reader/camera, right-click and choose Paste. The pictures will be copied across.
Incidentally, there are probably at least a dozen different ways to achieve the same effect, and the above is no better than any of the other ways!0
