He LPG'ed is 18 year old MX5 and saved money in 1 year (but did do 22,000 miles in that year) the car has now died (but not because of the LPG)

    Total Costs for the year:

    Annual cost of unleaded: £263.99
Total literage on unleaded bought: 241.18
    Average spend on unleaded: £1.095

    Annual cost of LPG: £2,175.40
Total literage of LPG bought: 3,980.14
    Average spend on LPG: £0.547
    Average pence-per-mile on LPG: £0.095

    Total mileage for 2008: 22,902
    Average miles-per-gallon: 25.8942

    Potential savings for 2008: £506.17*

*For new readers, the potential savings column started at minus £1,515.00 due to the costs of the installation of the LPG system. Therefore, potential savings should really read £2,021.17 for 2008.

dont know (after reading that) if its because our conversion is literally like a petrol, there is no "tank" as such as all joined up with petrol

hmmmm strange dont know how we did it then?

Eurotunnel don't have a license to transport LPG in any capacity- not because it is dangerous but because they aren't covered insurance wise- perhaps just got lucky- they never noticed!

How do you store the LPG if there's no tank for it?

Yes you can I did in fact do it and asked before hand. This was recent

I work for Eurotunnel and believe me what you did was not permissible under our transport licence. Vehicles have been escorted off site for turning up with LPG tanks, even if they have never been used. You were extremely lucky to get away with it.

Does anyone know if having your car converted to LPG increases the value at all, or doesnt make any difference?

    Thanks

I am daft just asked DH and he laughed at me-I am a typical woman he reckons.

The nozzle of the LPG and Petrol go into the same hole that is all joined but there is a tank where our spare wheel should go. I am a dummy sometimes.

    Thanks.x

Cars dont generally increase in value but you may find its base value persists longer.
Also LPG pollutes less which equates to an engine with less foreign particles in its oil and it should last longer basically
