Printer Problems

Hi

I have an Epson Stylus C44 UX at home and was printing just now. It printed 8 pages out of 13 and then suddenly stopped. Up popped a window and it said

SERVICE REQUIRED- Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. Please contact your dealer for replacement.

How can i contact them and get replacements if they dont tell me what the problem is? Has anyone had the same problem or know what it maybe?

Thanks

Might just need a new ink cart maybe? Try turning off and on again. If it is more serious fro it away and buy a new one!

Try downloading the SSC Service Utility for Epson Stylus Printers from here and you may be able to reset this SERVICE REQUIRED indicator.

No mate, just put new cartridge in as they had run out. This was the first thing i was printing with the new ones.

Epson printers have a counter in them which will prevent the printer working when a preset count is reached. Try reseting it.

When the program is invoked, if you click on the X it will minimise to the System tray.

Right click on the System tray icon for the Help.

looks pretty relevant, have a look at this. http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/18260

Apparently someone used a resetter program and it works. Ive not used it so I cannot vouch for it.

Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.
