I’ve used Dreamweaver a few times and found it a bit overwhelming. Coming from the old school I prefer to use something like HTMLPad and write the HTML from scratch.
You learn a lot more that way than you do letting Dreamweaver do all the hard work.0 -

I use NVU which has a lot of the features of Dreamweaver, but is Open Sourse, so completely free of charge. So far I haven't found any features lacking from it, take a look and see if it's any good to you.
