Is this site legal?

I am looking to purchase Dreamweaver but as you know it is very expensive to buy. Have just found this site http://cheapapp.com/index.php
which looks legit but I am always very wary of sites that seem to be cheap. Does anyone know anything about this company or have any experience of them.

Avoid like the plague.

If you check the spam inbox of your email account, you will find loads of dodgy offers like this. Try a google of this website - I did, nothing found.

Read the site FAQ's. This is 'software download only' so you dont get the original discs..thats why its cheap!

Is there any reason you need Dreamweaver in particular? There are alternatives available, such as the open-source NVU.

I am helping out a friend with her web site and it was written with the help of dreamweaver. Also am looking at possibly doing some more web design and have been told that dreamweaver is the best. I will go and check out the link you gave - thanks

You can download Dreamweaver 8 from the Macromedia website for a free one month trial.

That should get you by for now until you try the alternatives.

Although it's not ideal, you can create web pages with MS Office applications.

Dont even touch that website with a barge pole. I get 100's of offers in spam mail and gets right on my nerves.

That website was only registered a few weeks ago. Read some of their testimonials, which seem to imply it's been around longer. You'll notice that there are about 8 trading names. Do a Google search or two. It is alleged to be a warez site with keygens; also some people have changed all their credit cards.

I purchased Windows XP Professionl and now Microsoft say my copy is invalid

just checked, and ___ (redirected to ___) is registered and administered in places like Latvia, China, and Russia, probably to avoid anti-piracy and other consumer safeguards. And you won't find a physical address or phone number for these folks anywhere. I strongly suspect their wares are not legit...

Thanks so much for all the replies. I got to this site because I googled 'buy dreamweaver' and the site came up.

Redux - can you explain what '...alleged to be a warez site with keygens...' means - it's not a term I have heard before - thanks.

Also, some other advice - I have a friend who has taught me some html and helping me along - is this the best route to go? or do I need to look at some other software ie dreamweaver or one of the others mentioned? Or is there a good on line training (preferably free) that I could use.

A warez site is one that offers 'free' or cheap illegal downloads of software. Often the programs have been re-engineered to contain trojans and viruses (ie, they are really bad news).

Keygens are tiny programs which can calculate a working, but illegal serial number which you can enter into a program to install it, or turn it from a demo / shareware into the full version.
