Reclaim2Gain...HELP!

Today, I was sorting out some paperworks for my husband when a reclaim2gain pack got my attention. It's dated 13 Sept 2007 and I asked my hubby about it and he said that the claim is on hold. But then I found an invoice from them for £39.99 and it has been payed by my husband. I called the agency but can't get hold of them so I googled it and got a phone number. Was able to talk to someone but they said that the claim is on hold, I still wasn't satisfied so I researched about them further and stumbled on the Ministry of Justice website and searched the business name and came up..... Authorisation voluntarily surrendered – Businesses that have been authorised by the Regulator but who have surrendered their authorisation. These businesses are not authorised to provide regulated services.
I have contacted the Claims Management Regulation but they haven't got back to us yet. I am really frustrated about this and I can't believe my hubby fell into this. Can Anyone help me what to do? Do we have to call the bank my hubby was pursuing for reclaims and advise them to disregard any claims from Reclaim2Gain and do it ourselves? Please any advice would be much, much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It depends on what method was used for payment. If it was a Visa credit card, you could argue that they haven't provided the service promised and that the c/card co. refund you; if it was a debit card it'll be a bit harder.
Have you asked Reclaim2Gain to cancel your request and refund you?0 -
I can see an awful lot of claims companies failing in the coming years. Endowments are more or less finished now. Bank charges are dragging on, unenforceable loans may not actually get anywhere now and PPI will only run for a period of time.
If the things do drag on then some claims companies could run out of cash and go out of business.
In a way, you are lucky this company has gone out of business. You paid them to submit a claim on your behalf and they did that. However, if you are successful, you wont have to pay them as they are no longer authorised to deal with claims.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi Maegaz
I also paid Reclaim2gain money and think you will find that all or most of there claims of this type were passed on to another company the detail of which I do have and will pass on if you need them and I am able to PM you via the moderators.

If Reclaim2gain has passed it on to another company, aren't they supposed to let us know about to when and where have they passed it on to?
Yesterday, we recieved an update letter from Reclaim2gain about the claim, the thing that baffles me is that the actual letter did not have any signature or any name on it for either whose it for or whose it from and the name and address of my husband on the envelope is hand-written. We only knew it was from them was there was a stamp of their name on the envelope and that's it. And I really think its odd that they will do this or send this letter if they have surrendered their authorisation.0 -
I don't understand it because when I paid my money back in 2007 within a month I had a letter saying that this other company would be dealing with it so maybe Reclaim2gain are still in business. Was the letter not on headed paper?0

If they have been taken over fully then the new company will carry on. If they have "sold" their client bank (but not the business) on to another firm then it is up to the consumer if the new firm carries on or not on their behalf.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). No it wasn't on headed paper and if they are still in business then why did the Claims Regulation Management from Ministry of Justice states that the business is not authorised to provide regulated services anymore because they surrendered their authorisation. I am really confused about this, I am not very worried about the money we payed but the claim that they've arranged with Abbey. I am not sure if we are supposed to call and ask the bank if there is a pending claims on my husbands name or call the Reclaim2gain and confront them about this.0 -
I have asked the same question in another thread but no reply as yet I was told by the company dealing with it that the claim was on hold but now that company is not active not sure if we have to start from scratch?0

If the claim is submitted and logged then its job done. You shouldnt need to do any more.not sure if we have to start from scratch?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
