Wireless Help Required At Wits End

Been subscribing to BT broadband and went wireless in january spending £55 with bt on router and wireless usb adaptor for laptop.
Decided to save money by migrating and has turned into a money spending disaster.
Migrated to talktalk, didn't realised BT voyager was only for use with BT broadband. Have had problems with main pc since installing TT software was told this happened because their security software conflicts with others BT online security was still on pc at time. So have been told that pc needs to be reformatted due to missing files etc. Have had no problems with talk talk via laptop except we need to be wireless once pc is fixed.
What wireless router will work with Talk Talk , i also have BT voyager USB adaptor for laptop which i have been told will work with any generic router. My partner is going up the wall as we have to spend more money on another router so all the money we would have saved over the year by migrating has been swallowed up with getting pc fixed and buying new wireless stuff. sorry for waffling but at my wits end and taking great restraint not to throw pc and laptop out of window.
Any advice would be appreciated Thanks

I don't believe that the BT Voyager can only be used on BT Broadband. You will have to reconfigure it to work with your new ISP.
You have not given a specific model number but see here for more information which may sort you out.
It should not be necessary to re-format your PC in order to sort out your problems and when people make comments like this, they don't usually know what they are talking about!
If you need more help, be sure to post the exact model info of your Voyager.

Hi Ms-Money-penny
I'm on TalkTalk broadband and recently bought a Linksys Wireless-G ADSL Gateway Kit For Notebooks (WGKPC354G-UK).
I have it connected to my main Desktop pc and is used by my son for wireless laptop in his bedroom.
No problems so far.0 -

The model is the 2090 and when we tried to configure it did state that it does not support TT broadband. We even phoned voyager at they dtated that it was locked into the BT broadband.
The pc needs to be reformatted as we have missing DLL files through not closing down pc properly0 -

Hi there, Talk Talk will work with any ADSL router including your BT it will just require reconfiguring, type in your internet address bar the ip address of the router, this will have been supplied with the router and change the settings to the talk talk settings they would have sent you.0
