He hasnt had a bath in a while, so I need to bathe him. I havent got any dog shampoo, whats the best thing to use, or do you suggest getting special dog shampoo

Most of the products I use for myself are all 'natural'

Dog's skin is a different PH to human skin so you need to use "special dog shampoo" im not sure if anything else can be subsituted but im pretty sure human shampoo of any sort is a big no no!

Vetzyme dog shampoos are good, I used to use the JDS insecticidal on my dog and baby shampoo for his head.

Use a few drops of washing up liquid in a bowl of water. Had no problems and the end result is clean lemon scented fur.

Can't it wait until tomorrow, when you can get some dog shampoo?

Or stores like Pets at Home are open until 8pm. Or any supermarket if it comes to that.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Dog shampoo really is better. A lot of dogs get itchy and develop scurf after using even mild human shampoos. You can also get something more designed for longterm smell -combating ;)

FWIW some dogs do smell doggy. My greyhound gets a shower with me once a week to combat it: I'm grateful she has short hair and dries quickly and enjoys showering. :)
