Very, very true. I swear they can smell the potential of debt and start upping credit limits for specific accounts. Last year I took out an HSBC CC with 0% purchases for 12 months. Within no time at all both my Cap One and Morgan Stanley (now Barclaycard) cashback cards upped my available credit.

So far they have been very disappointed :D

Yes, then it's divvied up between the sheme, the issuer, and the acquirer.

My mate who I go drinking with showed me a letter from Barclaycard who he uses, it shows the current limit as £3700 - the letter then goes on to mention about increases and shows the new limit - a staggering £14,250.

He rung and got told this was correct, nothing wrong etc.

Just goes to show you how silly barclays are - by the way at the time he was almost maxed out and only earns a pittance.... put it this way, he cannot afford £15k debt - he has since asked to have the balance reduced to less than teice his annual salary - the CSO at barclays prob thought !!!!!!??? LOL

Yes they hardley get any of the money from a transaction as they are not the issuer of the cresit - Visa are. They make more money from any interest you pay.

Wrong. Barclaycard are the issuer and creditor. Visa are the card scheme.

Sorry - my bad I meant to say BC is the issuer. Was in sucha a rush when typing!
