water board broke my dishwasher

Hi ya Im not sure if I am in the right post but. The water board switched off my water yesterday without warning. Well, I was away and had put my dishwasher on before I left. When I got back there were two lights flashing on it and it stopped going.
I rang the manufactureres this morning and asked if the fact that the water was switched off mid cycle would be the cause of the problem.
They have told me that the lights that are flashing mean that the pump is burned out and because there was no water going to it that this is the problem.
Can I claim of the water board for the repair or replacement of this. Its costing £150.00 to repair.
Many thanks in advance for any help

Are you sure that the water board (temporarily) stopped the supply? Have you phoned them yet to ask? You should have had a leaflet through your door with notification of a interruption of supply.

It may have not been the fault of the water board.

You need to contact them and see if they have turned the water off or if they had any supply faults in the area.

A burst in a surrounding area may have resulted no water coming to your house even though they did not turn the water off.

The next call after that may need to be to your insurance company

Thanks for that. Seemingly there was a bust pipe somewhere so I suppose it wasnt their fault. I have contactd my house insurance and they said I wasnt covered as it was counted as mechanical. I guess im going to have to save save save:rolleyes:

Ah well, back to the hands in the sink for a while then.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
