If you're using Word 2007 you can get a Microsoft download that does it for you from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=4d951911-3e7e-4ae6-b059-a2e79ed87041.
If you're using any other version I would recommend PDFill (http://www.pdfill.com/pdf_tools_free.html) which will let you convert anything to PDF.0 -
I use cutepdf. It's free and it appears as if it's a printer so you do File Print in word and then pick cutepdf as your printer and it prompts you where to name/save the file.
Very easy.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
My vote goes to PrimoPDF. It's free & easy to use & it works fine with Word 2003, AutoCAD plus others.

If you have Office 2007 and are sensible and install updates (ie Service Pack 2) then you can save any document as a PDF with no external software or addons.0

Another vote for Cute PDF - have it installed at work on a number of different machines and it gives better output than some of the paid for software we have used in the past.0
