Just got al etter from the Abbey for being OD by £1.36p on the 4th May it says why we are charging you 16th April instant OD request fee-paid item direct debit payment to .....mandate NO 001 -£35
4th May-Unauthorised OD/instant OD monthly fee -£25
total amount that will be deducted from your account on the may 26th is £60
Is this right? can they charge £60 and not tell us until today for a £1.36p OD that we were unaware of? My god £60 for that and then an 0845 number, got a freephone number from say no to 0845 so that is o.k. account in OH name so can't ring them just want to know if this is allowed, £60 OMG what a profit that is for them:eek:

The answer is yes they can do it but if this is the first claim then ask them if they will refund as a gesture of goodwill on this occasion due to the amount it was in excess otherwise start the process.Just got al etter from the Abbey for being OD by £1.36p on the 4th May it says why we are charging you 16th April instant OD request fee-paid item direct debit payment to .....mandate NO 001 -£35

I would just call them and see what they can do! Just play the "Oh I never knew" and I bet they will refund them esp if you have not had any before. If I have been helpful - Hit the Thanks button0 -
Thank you . yes OH rang them and asked them as it was only £1.36p could they be leniant and he said as a good will gesture he would waiver the £35 but keep the £25 so we have to pay the £25 in 2 weeks time, could have been worse so it is all good:D0

I would now send them a letter asking them to remove the £25 fee too, People on the phone are often limited to what they can removed. If I have been helpful - Hit the Thanks button0
