sky plus box advice please

hi,
my box is playing up when watching one of my recorded programs it keeps changing and would play different programs like corronation street, prime evil it was wierd any help on this please do i need a new box ?

All I can suggest is that the box has finally gone mad...and I blame recording corrie for that!

All I can think of to try is unplug from the wall for 5 minutes and let it reboot..hopefully it will sort itself out..
If that fails, phone CS

:rotfl:very funny about corrie got to see my soaps,thing is tho i hadnt taped it that night it was showing me the one that was on at the time. have tried rebooting stays ok for a while then seems to play up again.

Hi i don't know much about this but my niece was saying just yesterday that Sky upgraded thier box and it has not worked properly ever since. Apparently there is a faulty batch been going around and i think Sky has been back to my neices home 3 times now with different box's. It may be worth looking into somewhere else to find out more as i Can only pass on to you what i was told.

Try doing a forced software download, unplug box from mains, hold down the backup button on the box, keep holding the button then plug back into mains, keep holding button then after about 20 seconds you will a message on screen saying downloading software, you can then let go of the button.


Also a planner rebuild can help, services>system setup>press 01 then select > planner rebuild

ok thank you, if i dont succeed tho will i !!!!!! the whole box up? have to wait til i get new remote tho as certain buttos dont work and 1 of them is the back up button.

not sure mine is 1 of the bad batch as we have had it just over 1 year now. thanks anyway

the backup button to press is on the box...not the remote!

Its the button on the box not remote, dont worry it wont mess your box up or loose anything

oops sorry never use them buttons so ill look for that and try it. i just tried the other way by going to services>system setup and pressing 01 but on menu that is just the picture settings, i did it anyway

You need to type 01 then press select when on system setup as that is the hidden menu, follow the order below

services>system setup>press 01 then select > planner rebuild
