Some good progress there!

Good luck for exams determined1. I'm still close enough to finishing mine to sympathise and know what you're going though (not accountancy though! that's self-taught in this house!!!)
I'm such a twit... I forgot the most important point to mention. An exta £10 went into OPs Savings Account!!! More than half way to our monthly aim now.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

Well done on gettign the shelves up and paperwork sorted MRN..
I had a very lazy weekend and the paperwork is till in piles
Yay for the OP! (I know its not techinally an OP yet)Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
Phase 1 - Emergency Fund - Complete :j

Likewise I've been wading through paperwork and much has been recycled, but still some to go. The largest volumes though are some magazines (PC and web site development related) which have "useful" articles. I know the PDFs on their cover DVDs probably cover some of these issues now, but it is still easier to quickly browse the hardcopy (even though at work I do things entirely electronically for the detailed reports etc my staff undertake and I review - they'd laugh to read that line!).
Also been staring at spreadsheets and trying to make money appear; my eyesight went squiffy but no new money appeared
But it was an NSD weekend...0 -

So the new job grows more curious by the day... after getting my first pay rather late (all my collegues did too) it turns out they (and I as a result) don't get pay slips. I have emailed the boss in a naive manner saying that I didn't get one?! Of course my collegues have already told me the is not unusual but I would like a pay slip even if they don't and I think this is the best approach at first... also requesting holiday so need to tread carefully!!!
Completed another mystery shop on Sunday and a few more already in the pipeline. No huge spending this weekend even though we were quite sociable.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Been paid... early this time!!! But it was a full months worth which felt good. Good enough to do the monthly money shuffle without any worries there wouldn't be a safety buffer... transfers went to my personal ISA, my part of the agreed amount into the joint account (for mortgage payments, bills & food, any spare for hols) and my half of the goal for the joint savings (annual mortgage overpayments)... Goal met for June!
I know a certain MFW on this forum is a fan of treating yourself alongside being MSE... to that effect I treated myself to a new top but made sure I used my student card (valid till end of Sept even though I've officially finished now).Must force myself to get back into ebaying clothes again, the pile to go is huge!
My requested holiday time has been granted so time to start planning for that!:T
We had home grown peas with our roast chicken yesterday evening too... they were delish. Earlier we'd had rocket, some spring onions and a strawberry each but it was nice to do some proper cooking with home grown produce!
Another mystery shop completed on Friday too, spreadsheet looking healthy for that. Two more planned for next weekend.
I updated student loan spreadsheet now that I've had a month and a half's wages, my first non-voluntary repayments... yippie for 0% interest for 12 months.
There were a few other things on the to do list but I won't bore you with the details... after all that we still managed to fit in some relaxation in the garden, a lie in and catching up with a few rellies and a friend at the weekend! :cool:MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Hi MRN (not that you sound like a novice with all that you have acheived)
Our shredder sound like yours, it gets itself all hot and bothered and refuses to work until it cools down, which is good when you want a break
Boyfriend has been sorting out paperwork so I was in charge of shredding and filling the recycle bag (after making sure there was no personal information going in the bag).
I was shredding things from 2001 and he says he not a hoarder :rotfl:Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0
ISA challenge start 2019 £3000/£1500 (50%)0
