Channels missing on new TV with built in Freeview

My gf called Panasonic yesterday, and they advised to keep trying to scan for new channels, and that possible the weather could be causing it to not pick up certain channels straight away. Other then that, he said there is no reason why the built-in Freeview should not be able to pick up the same channels as the old Matsui box.

Thanks a lot for typing that out! I did some research on the internet yesterday, and our transmitting station should be "Crystal Palace" as we are in the London area, so not sure if the problems with the Rowridge Transmitter have anything to do with it.
I also got the channels on which the different Multiplexers are on the Crystal Palace transmitter, and some explanation on how to do a manual search on those specific channels, so might give that a go, although does sound quite technical.

Will go for that booster in Argos if all else fails, and hopefully that will solve the issue!

Hi guys,
Looking for some help...
We used to have a Matsui Freeview box connected to our old CRT-television, and we would get all the Freeview channels.
We have now upgraded to a new Panasonic Plasma TV (Panasonic P42C10B) with built in Freeview.
I installed the TV today, and ran the automatic search for channels. However, there are several channels missing on the built in Freeview that we would get before with the external Freeview box (ITV, Channel 4,.... although we get ITV2+1, but not ITV2 itself)
Any idea how this can be, or how I can fix this?
It doesn't seem to be a signal issue, as we could get all the channels before.
Could it be that the built in antenna is not as strong as the external box one? Can I do a manual search to add these missing channels, or would I need to invest in a extra antenna or booster?
BTW, we live in a flat, so cannot upgrade the outside antenna...
Thanks a lot already!
I have a Panasonic 42" plasma with built in dvb freeview, I live in an upstairs flat and I have a tv aerial point in my living room thats connected to a big rooftop tv aerial, it's tempermental with the quality of reception, might be weather or electrical interference with other devices in the air. In the past I've been able to get all the freeview channels but it didn't pick up BBC Parliament and BBC 1extra. I think I saw an engineer up a ladder adjusting the rooftop aerial a couple of months ago because now I have 24/7 access to the missing channels, although it still has bad days for example this week all of tuesday daytime and evening there was no signal on the screen. It sorts it self out and most of the time I can watch T.V. The best thing to get for free tv is a freesat box and you can use a sky dish for freesat. Although my Panasonic Viera isn't built in freesat, i think using a freesat box is just as good. I think my mum stitched me up by buying an older model plasma that only has freeview built in and not freesat. I might upgrade in a year or two.0 -

I think boosters are essential for a good signal, on the tv's signal quality menu screen, a booster doubles the green bar and I don't think I would have a clear reception without it.0 -

Indeed, and I agree, however this is in a block of flats, so not a realistic option to upgrade the aerial.0
