    Sorry again.
    So if I buy a 2GB RAM(instead of 512 MB installed), will i see a great performance?

2xgb (2gb) should show a dramatic performance improvement!

If you buy from the Crucial scanner recommendation, they guarantee compatibility. If you want max performance, go for 2GB, otherwise get 1GB. You can always purchase another 1GB later if you want. There's no saving for buying 2 together.
XP will run much better on 1GB than 512MB, going up to 2GB from 1GB you probably won't see so much difference.

Installed the RAM but can only see a 10-20% improvement.
There is a way to check for bottleneck(s) in the system?

Quadruping the RAM does not quadruple the speed. It does not work like that. It will be a bit faster and it will also allow you to multitask more easily.
Check if you have sufficient free disk space on your hard drive-say 15% minimum free.
Run Defrag, run Disk Clean Up, or a free Registry cleaner such as CCleaner. All this will clear out clutter and may give you a bit more speed.
