Any problems with Windows 7?

I just wondered if anyone had noticed any issues with the Windows 7 RC1 trial?
Call me an optimist, but I decided to test Trackmania Nations Forever on it, but it freezes when I click "Play" on the splash screen. I've played around with the "run as an Administrator" and Vista/XP-compatibility options, but still no joy...
Has anyone managed to get it working? Is there any other software that causes problems with the Windows 7 RC?
I have to say, I'm pretty impressed so far (although I prefer the simplicity of XP's "classic" Start menu and task bar). It seems to run a lot faster than Vista's RC did.

Got to say I've not had any problems with 7, and I've thrown pretty much everything I can find at it. Although I'm not a gamer so can't comment there.
So far the only piece of software I can't get to run in Windows 7 is TMPEGenc Xpress - even in Vista or XP compatibility mode.0 -
Well it's still not a finished product, so you should expect some things not to work quite as they should (or even at all).
The latest benchmarks suggest that it's really not that much faster than Vista (and slower in some instances):

XP is even beating it in some speed tests, though here's a possible explanation as to why so many people say it feels faster:

Do beta testers get free upgrades to the full version when it's released, or pay for it?0

500 testers that applied to the extended feedback system are getting free copies of win 7 ultimate (US residents only tho  )
Just downloaded trackmania, runs fine no additional settings applied.

With Vista, those who were invited through Connect were given free copies if they submitted just one bug, but that's a world away from the telemetry they're getting from having a massive public beta.
You'll just have to join the queue, unless you've got a technet or MS subscription (which really is worthwhile).0 -
... I decided to test Trackmania Nations Forever
I really can't remember the details, but the game insists on some protection...like securerom..only different...I had to download the latest version from the site ...sadly not as obvious as the TM site

i hasve only had one problem so far, in that when i first installed it, if i stopped moving the cursor for 10 seconds the pc would freeze, it turns out to be something in the power options, i have changed the setting from balanced(recommended) to power saving, and it has solved the problem, funnily enough it happened with vista as well, so i knew how to fix the problem, must be something to do with my pc than O/S though, mind you if anybody has anysuggestions why vista and now windows 7 would do this i wouldgladly listen, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0 -

i wish, mind you i think we should get a voucher from ms giving us x% off if we do go ahead and purchase, for being testers for them, i know we get the use of the new O/s for a year, but there is no guarantee that we wont have problems with it, and ms knows who is testing it, as they get your email address when you go to download the RC, so they could email you a voucher when the full fat version is released, but doubt they will, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0 -
Beta testers and people testing the RC are different (the beta has been around ages, the RC [release candidate] has only been released a couple of weeks ago), and the RC clearly states that there will be no free version for you, no vouchers, nothing. And in 14 months it'll lock out (rebooting constantly) so don't think it's a free OS, it's not. Did people read the T+Cs before downloading?!
Moving from the beta to the RC is a pain, although you can fix it, it's better to wipe and reinstall.
I suspect when the final version is released by Jan next year, you'll need to wipe again and reinstall from scratch to avoid any issues.0
