I currently pay 37.50 for my sky + package. My free view box in my bedroom has died so I am looking for a new one but wondered if there was a way of getting some of my sky channels upstairs.

I don't have sport and don't want it
I have movies but rarely watch them so could get rid of this if need be
I love my sky plus as I "tape" most things and watch them when I want to
Upstairs I mostly watch channels 1,2,3,4 but would like itv2 E4 and maybe channel 4+1
Its just me here so the option to have different sky programmes in different rooms would have no value to me
I am happy just to replace my freeview box with a cheap and cheerful one if there is no way round with sky

Thought I would ask you lovely people before I ring sky to discuss.

You could use a Humax http://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/ for upstairs, does the same as Sky+ but without the Sky channels.

Cheapest way is to run a cable from the RF2 out on the Sky box to RF in on your TV. That way you will get all the Sky programmes although not independently.

As Jem 16 says, run a cable from the RF2 output of the Sky box to the upstairs TV, then you will have everything upstairs as well as
downstairs, if you add a Sky magic eye gizmo ( inserts into the cable ) you can also change channels from upstairs too,
if running a cable would be a hassle get a AV sender (from about £30 from Argos, Maplins etc.) does the same thing.
If you dont watch Sky Movies, call them and cancel that part of your package, no point paying for them if you dont watch them
