Help with summer holiday booking please.

Hi
I have been scouring sites looking for a summer holiday for my family, I am a teacher so we have to go during the school holidays. For the first time this year we can afford to go a little further afield, we would like to try a long haul destination and would love an all inclusive!
I know we are asking a lot as we don't really want to spend more than £1200 for all of us (2adults and 1 child (4))
The best we have found is with Kuoni at the moment who can do Sri Lanka for £1800, just wondered if any of you travel experts out there could help... all ideas gratefully received.

    Hi
We want to go for 14 days, ideally travelling evening of 17th July or the 18th July. We were looking at Thailand/Sri Lanka. Culture and a Beach are quite important to us.
    Thank you for your reply.

With all due respect I think you're asking rather a lot for long haul for 2 weeks in school hols for £400 a head!!

Sri Lanka at £1800 sounds a bargain to me!

I agree and if they can get Sri Lanka for that price thats a fantastic deal for 2 weeks in July.
Other than that for £400 each you will be lucky if you get the like of the Costas or Balearics never mind long haul.

There have been some amazing offers to Sri Lanka - companion airfares when booked with accomodation, for travel in the period before the end of June. Perhaps it may be worth hanging on a while to see if this offer is extended - I should have thought this is a possibility as they are desperate for visitors atm.

As you know, I spent last Christmas there - not a drop of rain and 30 degrees of sunshine for the whole fortnight. I checked a couple of weeks back and there were some very attractive airfares for the Xmas period if you don't mind flying as near to 25 Dec as poss!

    Thanks that sounds perfect.
I am going to a have a look around at hotels etc but if you can point me in the right direction that would be good as the only holidays to Sri Lanka i have really looked at were with First Choice.

Mexico. You can do that for around £1200 in the quieter areas other than cancun. Dont worry about this swine flu stuff. Also if you were to catch anything there is an offer at the moment for a free holiday every year for the nect 3 years if you were worried
