Probably just have to pay everything you owe back, I really wish people faced jail for benefit fraud.

That just costs more money for the tax payer.

Community service would be more worthwhile.

    They do.
Plus paying it back and/or a fine.

    Fraud is a criminal offence.
If you are found guilty - you face a criminal record. That's something that will follow you for the rest of your life. Parent or not.

  • People like you disgust me. I work my backside off so you get you sit on yours and claim for things you are not entitled to.

I hope they throw the book at you. Hopefully you will learn something from that and be a better role model for your children.

    Disgusting.

I think everyone at some point in life does something stupid as nobody is perfect. ( even mps claim for things they shouldn't! )What you have done is wrong and you obviously know it so everyone beating you around the head with a stick is not going to make anything better.

My advice is to let this be a lesson to you on honesty. Dishonesty never pays, maybe for awhile but eventually you come unstuck like you have and now you have to pay for it.

When you have your interview be completely honest, tell them that you have been under a lot of stress but dont try to claim mental illness as this wont go well for you. Tell them you realise what you have done is wrong and you realise and are willing to pay back everything you owe. Dont try to get out of it and dont be tempted to hide anything related to your income as mentioned they will find out and you will be only causing yourself more stress.

Make a fresh start from today and resolve that you will never allow yourself to be dishonest again as apart from it been morally wrong and illegal the stress your going through now is so obviously not worth it. Your not the first by far to commit benefit fraud but you should make this your last time.

I sincerely hope for your childrens sake you make better decisions in the future and I hope you can sort things out with the investigators. Dont do anything stupid and just go face the music in a honest and dignified way and it will work out well for you whatever they decide.

I totally agree with the Community Service idea, and for the long term jobless, it will introduce them into a working routine

    Me too.

And I REALLY hope the money has to be paid back. With interest.

But then a claim to wipe off the debt might be sought after by the OP as previous vodaphone/Yes Car Credit etc etc?

Hand outs hand outs hand outs... Not wanting to pay back debts...

How did that Family Fund £450 holiday go for you? End up getting another £450 holiday for nothing from them too?

Oooh I'm getting really nasty. I'm sorry. I am sure I have got it all wrong (at least I hope so).

They won't. Their staff are trained using the same training police use when questioning. I know, I used to work for them. :)
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

your backed into a corner, they must have gathered enough proof to bring you in for questioning.
just hold your hands up to it all and tell the truth from the start.
The truth makes less work for them,
if you start making excuses or more lies your put there backs up, and the outcome will be worse for you,
