What price/type were you thinking of a 50quid pocket camera or a 3K DSLR? or somewhere in the middle?0

eBay is your best bet. Good pocket cameras like the Canon Ixus range new are 150+, so you'll get a decent older model for 50ish on eBay.0

I'd agree and say EBay is your best bet for sheer choice.
But if you need one pretty urgently you could go to a place like CEX (Computer Exchange) or CashConverters and buy one there - not the cheapest option.
Bear in mind that fairly decent new cameras can be bought for £50 from places like Argos (and you get a warranty with it).
Good names to look out for are Canon (Ixus range in particular), Casio, Sony, Nikon & Samsung.Lack of money is the root of all evil.

I suggest the London Camera Exchange. They are very knowledgeable in the field and every time I go past, there seems to be some good deals on in my branch. I think the CL branch is in The Strand. This is only if you need one soonish, otherwise, as others have suggested, look on eBay.The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Buy a copy of the Amateur photographer.. it's got a section on this.
Try York Cameras http://yorkcameras.co.uk/how_to_find_york_cameras.htm or for 'consumer' digi-cams you could go to computer exchange http://www.cex.co.uk/stores/index2.php?id=1
Try http://www.apc4me.co.uk/camera/ for the fair on saturday and www.pccgb.com for the fair on sunday:25th Annual London International Camera Collectors' FairRoyal Horticultural Society's Lindley Hall

First of all.. what do you want - SLR? Remember, the money is best spent on lenses, not camera bodies. Personally I like collecting the old manual focus olympus lenses (as they fit on my new SLR nicely and cost very little)0
