I have just taken up my TW offer and see it as a good investment, The Times has today upgraded its opinion on TW to a strong Buy.

The 25p shares are really only available to current shareholders, contact your broker if you are entitled. There are some 25p shares available to non-shareholders but my understanding is that they've all been bought by the institutions already.

I have taken my options for shares. Things are a lot lot better at TW, all debts covered now for the next 3-4 years, this shares issue is to raise cash for buying cheap cheap land which will be for houses to build over the next 5-6 years. (Remember we still have a major houses shortage in this country).

Apparently at the moment TW are selling many many houses, more in the last month or so than the last 12 months. Things are looking bright for them, I hope to see a £4-£6 price per share in the next 3-4 years.

You don't say a lot about why Taylor Wimpey is such a bad investment other than to say it is. Perhaps you're slightly bitter due to apparently making losses. QUOTE]

:D yeah I guess you are right... but I'm holding still with my TW shares, I think by mid-2010 they will be coming good already. If I have the nerves to wait till there, that is.

    Chaps,

I have read through this thread and I am still confused:

I have bought my full entitlement available during the open offer period.

Surely I now own my original shares and my new shares and the total value of each share is the current share price available?

I dont understand all this talk of some shares being worth 1p etc??

    Can you clarify?

    Many thanks
Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at an Elingsh uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht frist and lsat ltteer is at the rghit pclae. You don't need to worry yourself about this. It's just a mere technicality. The 1 pence that is being discussed will simply be the nominal value of the new shares. It has no bearing whatsoever on the market value.

When the new shares are issues around June 1st, they will be ordinary shares, exactly like your current shares and be traded at whatever the current market price is.

That sounds like it came straight from a press release from Taylor & Wimpey themselves. So it lacks a certain credibility.

Not a press release, a good matey who works relatively high up in the company. He has just took some sort of a option of 15,000 shares and is happy with things at the moment. 6 months ago, he was concerned that I had brought shares.
