Welcome on board Piglet - the company may just keep me a bit more motivated. So far I am down 2lb but I dare say a tummy bug at the weekend may have assisted. Only about 73lb to go.......
  • Wow. 10 whole days off...I havent had that in so long. Having to travel to New York at least twice a year tends to take all my holiday up. What would I do with all that time?

I say have a full day to clear out the pad & get it into shape, if you havent had time before. Pull out loads of stuff, post it on ebay for a small profit, or you could even put it on www.freecycle.org, if youre feeling generous.
Go to Tesco, they do a self heating mask by Skin Wisdom that is 99p for an application. It still feels pretty sinful though.
Also, pad on down to your local library & see if they do hiking maps of the area. Where I am in Kent, our library does these laminated maps; we got 6 for like £1.21. It displays a map on one side & the other side tells you all about the stuff youre walking past. (It will tell you the historical significance of the area. Ours mentions a tree that is over 2000 years old, plus old churches & the like, VERY fascinating & you get to learn about the area around you. If youre in the city, they might have websites set up for that very thing. Put in "yourcouncil".gov.uk in a search engine, & find out what the council suggests. You pay your taxes, so they'll be telling you about stuff you already paid for!

I really dug LookingAhead's idea too. hmmmm, maybe at the weekend...

Great minds think alike. I had a financial clear out day yesterday: all those bank statements that hadn't been opened are now neatly sorted into shoeboxes, utility bills have been filed etc. What amazed me was the sheer amount of financial advertising that is stuffed in with the bank statements and bills. I split the rubbish into two groups - shredding and recycling - and the recycling bag must have been four times as full as the recycling bag.
