New smart meters and economy 7

Does anyone know how will these new meters work with economy 7? I use storage heaters, night boiler, washer, dryer, dish washer and loads of other things on this tariff and save a small fortune. I hope they are not thinking of scrapping it when these new meters come out?
When the bloody hell is nelly coming back?

The new Smart meters are planned to do everything todays meters do but in a single meter that can be reconfigured remotely. So it can be single rate, E7, E8, 3-rate, 6-rate, credit, PAYG, debt recovery, the list goes on. All of this from the suppliers IT system at the touch of a button, they will even be able to disconnect or switch you from credit to PAYG in seconds if you fall behind with payments. Same concepts will apply to the Smart gas meters.

Sorry to hijack the post a bit, Spiro, you seem to be in the know about these meters. They sound as if they are as I was expecting them to be, now for the $64000 question. Will they be able to be used for the more exotic heating systems out there, i.e. THTC/Comfort Plus/Heatwise etc? I ask as these systems require up to 4 seperate Live out terminals.

My understanding is that they will be suitable for operating a 'heating curcuit'. Dont know why the system you are talking about require 4 rather than 2 live terminals but I have only heard mention of a '5 terminal' (2 in, 3 out) option not a '7 terminal' which is what you appear to say is needed.
