Selling copies on eBay

Just wanted some advice. I bought a DVD of an episode of Last of the Summer Wine about two weeks ago and it turned out to be a copy. I've got the money back from the seller, but I don't know what to do about feedback. I'd rather be nice and give them neutral feedback since they refunded my money, but my partner says better negative as it may stop other people buying copies from them. Nowhere in the listing did it say it was a copy or I wouldn't have bought it. The auction started at £9.99! For a copy! Also, does eBay have a process for reporting people who sell copies? I've been with eBay for a while, but this is the first time I've come across this.

hope someone can give me some advice

Selling unauthorised copies is a NoNo on eBay. I complained when I bought some pirated CDs and the person was "struck off." I can't remember the system off the top of my head, but it should be reasonably easy to follow, otherwise *I* couldn't have done it. I didn't bother with feedback until after my complaint had been sorted, then I couldn't leave any as they were no longer on the system.

...I ended up with some after and auction, good, printed directly onto the DVDs. The 4.5GB capacity was the giveaway along with the dye colour.

The enterprising youngster insisted they were "imports" and, after our email dialogues, he came across as having been suckered into bulk buying DVDs fo er onward sale. Once I educated him in the way to spot fakes, he refunded me in full and I returned the DVDs at his cost.

I did give him the benefit of doubt and left neutral feedback.

Only thing if they have not left any feedback for you and you neg them they will almost certantly neg you in return for the sake of it and you will need to try and get it removed by ebay if they can be bothered.

Don't think ebay are that bothered about pirated goods as there is that much of it on their they cannot stop it all and it makes me laugh when a new film comes on the cinema you can guarentee someone is selling copies of it and it's not that hard for ebay to do a search.

    Hi,
£9.99 dose seem very steep, did it come with artwork??? LOL. Are you very sure that the auction said nothing that may give you the slightest hint that the dvd isn't real.

I advise you to leave netrual feedback saying "dvd not what expected, seller did refund me" or some thing like that.
    Cashback sites are worth it:
    GP Cashback- £50 (£35 paid)
    PigsBack- £5.00 (£30 paid)
    Topcashback- £40 (£40 paid)
    Quidco- £50 (£43 paid)
    Ipoints- 500 + 2 CDs claimed

I would leave neutral feedback but make it very clear in the comments what happened.

Maybe next time you'll tell us what you'd like to hear as opposed to actually asking for advice......but if you're happy to allow pirates and thieves to continue on eBay...go for it! :-)
