Well Hubby normally does ok at Tesco BUT...

He went the other day and the woman on the till went through the coupons, She would not let him use any coupon net ones because they are in my name and not his, then she would not let him use the shakes ones as they had no expiry date on them, Then she said he could not use any that didn't have a pik of the product on them either... SOOO She took around £2 out of the £9 worth of coupons.. and took 1 hour looking at them and reading every word on them..

Mad thing was the when he was on his way out the other c.a said to him I would have taken all of them.. He was a little stressed when he got home..

    Hi

I used a Morrisons coupon in my local Tesco today.

Before I did any shopping I went straight to Customer Services. The woman did not know what I was on about but I pushed it and she went and got someone else. The 2nd person knew nothing either but she phoned the Cash Office who told her they were to accept the coupons.

I told her I would ask the SA assistant to speak to her if there was any problems with the coupon. When the coupon did not scan, the male SA tried to give it back to me.

I had to refuse and told him to call the supervisor. Luckily the supervisor knew about the coupon and she put it through.

Great shop - used loads of coupons as well as the Sun one. Got about £21 off my shopping bill, and only had to pay around £15.

Might just shop again in a day or two.

Ok, i e-mailed Tesco asking what the policy was in my local store and this is the responce i got:

    Thank you for your email.

I have detailed below some information on the acceptance of coupons in our
stores which I hope will help you.

All Tesco specific coupons display the Tesco logo. We'll only accept these at
the till if you buy the product shown on the coupon at the time.

We're happy to accept a non-Tesco product coupon even if you don't buy the item.
But, the coupon must be in date and Tesco must sell the product. If you present
more than one identical coupon you need to purchase the same number of products.
This also includes coupons printed from the Internet, but these will only be
accepted at the discretion of the Store Manager.

I hope this has helped to explain things for you.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

So does this mean i can hand over as many as i like, or should i still write to the store manager??

I was told instore today there had been an amendment to the policy and you can't use an extra one when buying the product ie buy 4 toothpaste use 4 toothpaste coupons not 5 like before  anyone else heard of this?

I love how some people can be so cute ;).

Its a database love, they tag you number to everything yuou buy, if they wanted to (and they prob do this) they will use statistical analysis to see you buy

Value grapefruit 90% of the time opposed to branded
Tomato soup but not chicken soup

Its all there for them to know ;).

Yeah they know everything bet they could calculate our life expectancy, and sorry to be crude but how often we have a number 2 based on how much fibre is in our trolleys. Never underestimate Tesco, one day they may take over the world:eek::eek:

Had to smile tonight, was having a dash in Tesco's and sent DD to check if the store was accepting the sun voucher and she was told
"We most certainly are young lady, spread the word!" DD thought it was hilarious.

First post on this thread but I've been dipping in and out of it for a while and have started using a few coupons, I need to get brave and print some and give them a go.

I keep reading about people having a mountain of Finish but not yet managed to find out where you got the vouchers from, more reading for me to do.

Thanks for all of the vouchers you post about, I need to get more organised and braver.

    £31.13 "spend" today and 31 points:confused:

I have a "Clubcard Plus" card which supposedly gives me double points on all my spend, but when I look at the receipt it only shows as single points, ie £10 spend = 10 points. I have phoned Dundee in the past and been told that the till cannot cope with showing the double points but that they are added later and shown on my statement, and having checked, this is correct. Hopefully, this will be the case with your points!

Went to Tesco around 6pm and used (among others) the Sun £5 voucher. It would not scan so the nice young SA called the supervisor who knew all about it and had to put it through as an "Other Coupon". She said that there would be quite a few coming in the next few weeks and hopefully they would have the tills sorted out to scan them shortly.

    Good old Tescos!
