Hi Dawn27
Just thought I would re post this from a few days ago in case you missed it.CouponWoman wrote: »Good evening everyone.
I have had an email from Tesco, Dundee, in response to my query re conditional spend coupons.
I asked some questions and these are the responses I got, by the way it took over a week to get the reply.
Q1 - Will Tesco accept the Morrisons conditional spend coupons out of the Sun newspaper - ie £5 off a £30 spend.
A1 - Yes, we do accept Morrisons £5 coupon on £30 spend.
Q2 - If the answer is yes, can each store refuse to comply and set their own policy or is it your national policy
A2 - Although it is a store decision, so if a store manager refuses to accept them there is nothing that we can do.
Q3 - Do you accept M&S conditional spend coupons
A3 - If the M&S conditional spend coupons have a bar code and are in date. then, yes we would accept them.
Q4 - Do you accept Farmfoods conditional spend coupons (they do not have barcodes on)
A4 - We are accepting Farmfoods conditional spend coupons, even without the barcode, at the moment.
Customer Service Manager
So as soon as my Morrisons coupons are finished I will try a Farmfoods one and see what happens.
Hope someone finds this info useful.
as you will see Tesco are taking Farmfoods coupons at the moment, this of course could change at any time in the future.
I have not tested this yet as I still have some Sun coupons.
Good luck if you manage to get one past the SA's
Hope I haven't annoyed anyone putting this on again, sorry if I have.0 -

>and pls see my follow up post 1638 :-)I have just been into Mr T in Amersham, they do not take ANY internet coupons anymore, I showed them a copy of the policy but they were not having it, they said it was store discression. You can use one MOC for your whole shop but it has to not be an internet printed one. I was at customer services for about 20 mins going through this with them and they were not going to budge. When I was checking out I spoke to the checkout girl and she said they have two couples that come in and used coupons all the time paying for all of their shopping, one couple have now been barred from the store and the other couple are not allowed to use any coupons at all !! I printed out loads of coupons as havent used them for about 3 months, where else takes them without buying the product and making you feel like a shoplifter at the checkout ?
....don't know what the more experienced peeps here think, maybe it might be an idea to phone other nearby Mr T store in advance to check if they do "accept coupons" before going, as between you, me [and MSE], "using individual store discretion" seems to be another way of saying "we're not sure, and/or: we're making it up as we go along".
I also know what you mean about being made to feel like a shoplifter/con-artist.......
Having read on here about other successful trips to Mr T's Express stores, I tried one out the other week.....only to be told in self-righteous terms [in front of whole shop] that they don't accept any coupons unless they relate directly to the items purchased. After I politely asked the initial SAs colleague to check, I was told " she IS the supervisor". ......
And my second [ever] couponning trip to Mr W's [last week] once more made me feel like Oliver Twist trying to scrounge another bowl of porridge....
Don't give up - there is another Mr T's which will help you, but it's bloomin' offputting when you have to deal with the ill-informed and plain snobbish .....
In retrospect, the cringefactor is worth it as in the few weeks I have been couponning [approx 5], I have saved £130, which is a lot if you are on a low income.-“Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty.” - John Kennedy Toole, A Confederacy of Dunces0 -
DAISYMAC...
This post from lemonjuice to another poster [complaining about rude SA] contains better advice than mine
:-)lemonjuice wrote: »A lifetime ban is OUTRAGEOUS! How do the SAs know it's you? Are they issued with your photos and details?
Had a similar dilemna to djrich and was not sure whether to bother contacting CS. As I had read a few comments on here previously where people got a good result I thought it was worth a go. I phoned CS to ask what their coupon policy was after one refused to accept any and another would only accept 10%. Absolutely no help whatsoever, I wish I hadn't bothered!!! Officious young male trout checked with both stores, then told me it was entirely at their discretion. They had obviously identified me so I thought I had better not go back for a while.
Next day, had to redeem a largish coupon as it was expiring and nice SA took it no problem. Feeling braver, went back next day and very nice SA let me use 3 coupons to pay for most of my shop.
So I think it's best to take advice from here as to what the policy is and don't believe it if SA says the policy isn't what is should be. If you can't get their mistake rectified in the store at the time then try again on another day or in another shop.
On the other hand, if we all complained every time, would we all be banned?:rotfl:-“Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty.” - John Kennedy Toole, A Confederacy of Dunces0 -
Well after a great shop the other day it had to happen..
Hubbs just phoned me, He just came out of Mr T's and said he had no shopping.. Unfortunately There is one really bad manager who happened to see him with his coupons and insisted he can only use 1 coupon if he bought the product and none if he had not.. She would not budge so he just walked out and left it all, He had left his bank card at home and didn't have enough cash on him to pay for it... I know its a bonus when coupons can be used but she was quite nasty with him and there should never be a reason for that... Next time he will try another T's..0
