Orange half price line rental for life - Worth anything?

Hiya,
I'm just leaving Orange, however I've just found out that my contract (yourplan 120) has been tagged for half price line rental for life.
The CS lad said he'd never seen this before in all his time there and that if it were him he'd keep it.
Although the downside, is that I'd have huge costs for handset upgrades because of this. He said I could have an spv c550 free, but EG a v3i would be £140, n70 would be £190 etc.
What are peoples opinions? I have an N70 coming for free through e2save/t-mobile at £20 a month (see other thread) but I'm curious to find out more.
Does Anybody have any info on whether it would be possible for me to transfer it to somebody else?

You can transfer it through Orange Customer Account Transfers (08000790005) but whether or not the half price line rental will stay I don't know.0
