Hi, can anyone help please?
I've previously found the recipe for a nice tomato soup on here but don't seem to be able to find it today. My daughter is not well and demanding tomato soup.
P.S. I've only got tinned tomatoes right now.
Many thanks0 -

Would really like to try making tomato soup, does anyone have a cheap recipe for this as don't want to spend a lot in case we don't like it lol xMFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 20200

My recipe is similar to this - too lazy to type!

You can also make it more interesting by putting in other herbs such as basil, which I quite like. And if you don't have/want to use tomato puree, a squirt of tomato ketchup would also do the trick. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Got this off the internet many years ago from one of the American frugal living websites (bluegarlic.net but they don't seem to be going any more) – it’s the best 'instant' tomato soup recipe I’ve tried. This is one of those where using a good olive oil makes a big difference, as its one of the main flavours.
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
½ teaspoon salt
2 tins tomatoes.
1 cup milk.
Saut! onions, garlic and salt in oil until soft, about ten minutes. Place tomatoes, along with the saut!ed onions and garlic into a blender of food processor. Puree until smooth. Return to saucepan, and heat slowly, stirring occasionally. When hot add the milk and stir it in. This only serves two so double or quadruple for a vat!
