Fiat 500 - opinions please!

Not sure if it has been mentioned already but you could look at KA's which are effectively 500's they are about £1000 cheaper. And they come in diesel flavour too if you want more economy.0

I like the look of the KA, the 500 always looked a bit squashed and too bubbly to me, but each to their own!0
-
I think that they are both ghastly.0

Interesting. I had heard about rear axle problem (advised not to jack up by rear axle) and was told it had now been fixed. Along with the grinding brake problem.Just traded in a Swift for a Grande Punto. Swift at three years old was very tired. Mechanics good, but interior falling apart. Glove box hanging off, rear axle out of alignment, a known fault but Suzuki would not fix, drivers seat material frayed, and full of rattles. Good engine, great fun to drive, but spend your money elsewhere.
Like you say, a cracking car to drive though.0 -

The way things are going, there will be about 3 models of cars, with about 50 different badges on them.:D0 -
Oh, this was originally my thread, wasn't it! Well here's an update - I decided to forget the Scrappage Scheme as I didn't intend to spend that much on a car originally, and the scheme was just pushing me to spend more than I could realistically afford. So I went for a Ford Fiesta 1.4 diesel and, after the wheels were balanced by Evans Halshaw (for free) today, I love it!!

Car was a 2006 56 Vin3 model in Suzuki terms, built in Hungary, and apart from engine & gearbox it was cheaply made & it showed. Bonnet rusting as well, so not fully galvanised. These cars are not long term prospects.
Grande Punto 1.3 diesel that replaced it is a much better car, very happy with it so far.0
